So, this Pottermore announcement was that... there will be more announcements later?

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Something about Rowling ebooks is what I've heard.

Sounds like a new online community with perks. But yay! to the eBooks finally being release!
Have any of you read What Alice Forgot? I just finished it -- my school's librarian bought it for the library. I CANNOT imagine any high schooler reading this and enjoying it. As am adult I thought it was touching and a little close to home, but for a high school student? Oh hells no.
I finished Feed and was just settling in with Wee Free Men (I get all the best book recs from my Buffistas) on our last day at the beach when HKF asked to see what I was reading. And now won't give it back. She's on ch. 2. With instructions to stop if it gets scary or inscrutable. Someone yell if I'm being a bad mom ok? Or, you know, help me figure out a way to get my book back.
I just finished reading True Grit. That was a fun book. I've never seen either movie, so I can't compare it, but I loved the narrative voice of the book.

There are some moments of high dramatic tension, but I don't think too overtly scary. Good on 'er! And may she finish it quick so it gets back to you.

You definitely want to se the Coen brothers' version as they tried to keep as much of that voice as possible. It's been so long since I saw the Wayne version, I can't remember it well, though I am sure that Kim Darby did a good job with the character (despite being significantly older).
Franken,
I didn't really like Kim Darby's take on the character, having seen the movie in January. I definitely prefer the Coen brother's version of the movie to the John Wayne version. John Wayne does a pretty good job though.
