You always think harder is better. Maybe next time I patrol, I should carry bricks and use a stake made out of butter.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Ah, okay. Not quite what I was expecting, but close enough.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You guys -- I finished Room last night, and I can't stop thinking about it! Then I found the website, which is worth seeing if you've read the book: [link]

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's on my TBR pile (metaphorically.) I like Donoghoe a lot, and I'm interested in seeing how she writes a story set in modern times.

I haven't read any of her other stuff, so can't say how it compares.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I read Room last week and loved it. It really stuck with me - I found myself thinking about it a lot since reading it.

Punishingly Intricate

I loved Room. And love her other stuff but it's been a while since I've read her other things so I'm not sure how they compare.

Because books.

The only thing I've read of hers is Kissing the Witch, which is really good but it's retold fairy tales, so I assume style-wise Room is probably pretty different. I'm dying to read it, though.

Great link! I loved Room and I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks after reading it.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I too loved Room though it was against my initial reaction to the premise. I've had a handful of students read it since and they all love it.

Cool link, Jesse!

Interesting... because the premise is why I avoided it.
