Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

One of the commentors compared this author unfavorably with Seanan McGuire who had posted information, in response to a question, but phrased it much better.

Yeah, Seanan has had to explain multiple times that as exciting as it may seem to you, it's NOT good when bookstores put books on shelves before the release date, since those sales don't actually count for rankings, which, besides being personally fulfilling, are also important to publishers when they decide whether to buy more books.

Pottermore isn't a novel. I'm thinking it's a web-based game of some sort.

Gabbo is coming!

There's a countdown.

6 Days 9 Hours 9 minutes and 20 Seconds until

JK Rowling's Announcement

also the owls fidget and the leaves fall if you run over them with your mouse. It's kinda neat in a frustrating sort of way.

oh weird. That works out to the night before I was planning to take my best friend to Whimsic Alley for his birthday.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

Let me start by saying I know nothing about Discworld except there are a ton of books and they're written by Terry Pratchett. But over and over again, I've been told that I should read Wee Free Men, so I finally decided to give it a shot.

I'm in love. I've only read one chapter so far, but I just want to scoop Tiffany up and take her home with me!

The girl read the dictionary! Because no one told her you're not supposed to!

And then this exchange:

"Zoology, eh? That's a big word, isn't it."

"No, actually it isn't," said Tiffany. "Patronizing is a big word. Zoology is really quite short."

And then the fact that she so easily took out the water monster while using her little brother as bait! So awesome! So very, very awesome!

I'm almost giddy from the joy this book has brought me so far! And it's only the first chapter!

OH SNAP! A friend gave me the first two books in their combined form for my birthday last year, but I haven't read them yet. How many books Tiffany Aching books are there? I wonder if the others will be released in a combined form. My bookshelf will look weird otherwise.
