Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The realest.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

No, but I like the sound of it. Seriously. I'd live that. If I were a vampire. WHICH I AM NOT.

REMEMBER OUR AGREEMENT. Turn me, then life of crime.

(It is important to have a plan for these things.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You don't stop me from annihilating bits of civilization and we stay in appropriate climates? I will totally turn you. Then life of crime.

A deal is a deal.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

This is why we work so well together.

Art Crawl!!!

In anticipation of the release of it's sequel, Patrick Rothfuss catches up his readers with a play of the previous book.

not your mom's socks.

Anyone here reading NK Jemisin's books yet? I tore through them - interested in hearing how other folks felt about them.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Anyone here reading NK Jemisin's books yet?

I read the first one and liked it enough to get the second, but it's buried in my backlog. I met Nora at Wiscon a few years back: she is quite marvelous, I must admit.

Right now I'm halfway through UK LeGuin's Powers, which is the last of the Chronicles of the Western Shore. These are wonderful, btw, although the first one (Gifts) doesn't have much of a storyline.
