Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

SJ, finished "Moonlight Mile" and forget to tell you! I liked it a lot, especially the ending. It was a little implausible in parts, but I found all of his books to be. Still, I am going to miss Patrick and Angie!

Yeah, I can hand wave the improbable in his books just because they're so enjoyable. I wonder if Lehane will really be able to stay away from these characters forever. I kind of hope not. Maybe a book years from now after Gabby is in high school and they find a case they just can't stay away from. I really liked how Moonlight Mile mirrored Gone Baby Gone in theme and with the same impossible choices. No one is totally blameless in the choices they made.

Our wings are not tired.

Connie, I'll email ya!

sj, agreed on the enjoyment and the liking the parallels. What would you think of him revisiting them down the road and having it told from Angie's point of view?

I love love love Angie, and I think I would adore a story as told by her. I also wouldn't be opposed to a story about Bubba, although it would be considerable darker. Or a story about an adult Gabby who has both of her parents qualities and their inability to stay out of trouble.

I like all of those ideas!! I don't think Lehane should write anything else. He should just write stuff about Patrick, Angie, Gabby, Bubba and Amanda forever! :)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I read Gud's Discipline on my Nook! I loved it! I like the voice and I liked the protagonist a lot.

Oh, cool, I'm glad you liked it. Did you get it directly off B&N?

Thanks! Now if B&N would just fix the author information. Maybe I need to figure out a way to contact them aside from customer support.
