Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
They will never leave you, Amy.

Well, being compelled is compelling.
Man, ita is always watching ...
Is there anyone nearby from whom I could borrow the Hunger Games books? Or at least Mockingjay ? I can buy the first one since it's in paperback, and Catching Fire doesn't have a prohibitive number of holds now, but Mockingjay has over 30 holds right now, so it could be months before I get a chance.
I'm reading a book I own right now, AIFG!
I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird right now for my book group. Somehow I missed reading it in school. It's really good so far. I often have trouble with adult books that have children as the main PoV characters, as the authors can make them unreasonably precocious or get heavy handed with the irony. But Scout's a fun kid to spend time with.
It never stops being really good, Calli. Lucky you, to be reading it for the first time. Scout is one of the great child narrators, describing things she doesn't understand but the reader does.
Love that book, and the movie too.
I read TKaM for my book club in junior high. It was the favorite book of the teacher who moderated the club, and he always had it as the first book of the year. I love it to pieces.
Too bad he had to follow it with Michener's Chesapeake, a mindnumbing slog of a book after reading TKaM!
