zuisa, I get what you're saying about being confident that Peeta has learned to control the rage, but the text didn't provide me with the level of evidence that would have satisfied me. Maybe that's sloppy storytelling, or maybe I set too high a bar.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
the part of Mockingjay ending that pinged "hope" to me was that Katniss and Peeta found a balance, were living together in harmony, and that their children (the future) were living in a world without hunger games and with a better future to look forward to. In spite of all the horrible things that happened, there was a future for the next generation without the same kind of torment K & P had suffered.
I just found a little gem I never noticed before in Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.
One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off the back of his turban.
Unbeknownst to Fred & George, they were pelting Voldemort in the face!
erin--spoiler font.
Ha! Thanks for that, Laga! I had not noticed that before either!
An entire Harry Potter re-read is really in order, I just can never find the time. Or the motivation, really, as as much as I want to read them again, there are so many books I haven't read.
I have a tendency to do a re-read when there is a movie coming out. Even though I have Scott Pilgrim 6 and The Book Thief sitting here staring at me, I might start of Chamber of Secrets today.
sorry, my first two attempts at spoiler tag didn't work. *sigh*
When are we starting that "read the books you own" thing? In January? Because boy oh boy do I have to get through these stacks.

Well, that's when I'm starting.
Excellent. I'll ride on your stylish coattails.
