Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Was that RDJ as Haymitch?

it was, indeed! he seems to be the most popular choice from fandom. i'm not on board the Kaya train. i think Lyndsy Fonseca would make a better Katniss. i really wish they'd go the unknown route with most of the characters though.

Welp. Catching Fire done.

Not sure if I want to even attempt Mockingjay yet. I'm emotionally distressed!!

I would love them to cast unknown kids in the movie. Although, I can't imagine that movie being anything but upsetting. There is SO much violence.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

For a cleansing of the palate, I highly recommend "Lost in Austen" a really charming and funny miniseries starring Jemima Rooper (who I fell in love with as the lesbian ghost in "Hex".)

Basically, it's time travel back into Pride & Prejudice, and it's funny and lovely. It's streaming on Netflix.

Ooh, I saw that on Netflix, and I love Pride & Prejudice, and it did look really fun. I'll have to look into that.

Tiggy, I just watched that trailer you linked, and WOW. I cannot even fathom how much work it must have been to do that. It was stunning. Nicely cast, too, from what I could see. I only recognized the boy playing Peeta, but wow. I am impressed.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Yeah who is that Katniss girl? She sure looks the part but I can't place the actress. If I didn't recognize the footage from the movie where they all live underground (and know in advance that was a fan trailer) I might have been fooled. Brilliant bit with the wolf there at the end.

isn't it awesome? some vidders should really be hired by studios to make trailers and promos.

the girl in the vid playing Katniss was in a UK show called Skins(which has now been snagged by MTV and they will be airing a US version soon). her name is Kaya Scodelario.

Oh, yeah, I knew I'd seen her. I've never seen Skins but I have a number of friends who rave about it.

I am only a little embarrassed that I recognize Lucas Till, the boy playing Peeta, from the Hannah Montana Movie. I mean, not that I've seen that. Of course not.

He sure looks like Peeta does in my head. Of all the actresses wikipedia says have expressed an interest in playing Katniss, Kaya is definitely my favorite, but she's the only one I've seen act.
