Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

One I know what only published in Brittain (only one mag) where Millie is confused for another person in one of her other books continuities.

Don't you hate it how you can go instantaneously from knowing nothing about something to wanting it desperately?

WANT WANT WANT!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Acorn Books has about two weeks left and every time I go in there I see stuff that Buffistas would want.

Lots of old Aviation books for DXM.

Classic fantasy for Micole and others. I had to put back a first edition of L. Sprague DeCamp and Fletcher Pratt's The Castle of Iron.

But I did pick up a first edition, signed copy of Fritz Leiber's The Knight and Knave of Swords.

So much stuff Betsy would like it's impossible to catalog. Lots of Victorian era editions. Whole shelves of rare Sherlock Holmes stuff. Shelves of rare Oziana - including the Baum Bugle.

Also picked up an xmas present for JZ's mom. A first edition of S.J. Perelman's Listen to the Mockingbird. Cover and interior illustrations by Hirschfeld. Lots of illustrations. Like every third page. So cool.

They're also auctioning off their furnishings and they've got gorgeous old glass fronted, wooden book cabinets of many sizes. Lecterns. Reading chairs with wide arms for your teacup.

Because books.

The too-far-away book and furnishings porn makes me So. Sad.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You can see some of the bookcases here.

I mentioned all the books are 70% off, right?

Glurble.

Seriously the owner is a major Holmes fanatic. They even have zines of Holmes fanfic. Bakerstreet Irregulars. All kinds of stuff.

move out and draw fire

I just poked around their website and found some stuff, but it's not nearly as nice as rummaging through a used book store.

I doubt they'd mail me those bookshelves anyway.
