LOL...SF is fine.
Although you had me worried for a second. "There's no way the car I hid the body in could turn out to be Kristin's!"
Something for billytea: [link] And anyone else who wants to make their own Wolpertinger.
'Safe'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It is just that they keep telling me that I should be able to offload work to the group in Boise (who I visited last month) and trust that they can help - but even with forewarning, they have not helped with either of my last two requests.
And the next time they tell you to get the Boise people to help, you pull out your calendar, say, "I asked them to help with X at Y time, and nada. I asked for Z at A time, nada. I asked them to do B, for C deadline, and nada. So if you would find a way please to make it clear to them that they should actually do something instead of just making pretty noises about doing something, that would be marvellous. Thanks."
Happy Beth Day!
And a very merry unbirthday to Raq and the rest of us.
Move~ma and apt~ma for sj
More cute pictures, but of grownups!
It's a worthy rant, Suzi. I guess delegating work to Boise and then just assuming it will get done because you requested it so you are perfectly justofied in going home would be wrong?

It sounds like it's time to start CCing the known world when you make requests.
My Work Rant:
Dear Client:
Rather than e-mailing me and four other people the question, "Did X tell you we need to change this web page?" try clicking on the link you're sending me to see that the change has already been made.
See, I just watched Madagascar again the other night (my version is just the lemurs and the penguins), so now I'm envisioning bt and Wallybee hijacking a cargo ship. Which is hella cute in its own right.
Oh Ginger - cc and bcc and I are good friends. I'm just not sure how far I want to push it right now. If they can't be arsed to help - fine, I don't want their help. I'll figure something out here. It might not be pretty - but I WILL get it done.
I tried the delegate and leave thing. Yesterday. Sent work off as I was leaving (remember I leave at 2:30 which is early for most) and came in today to find that not only had nothing been done but my designated "delegees" both said they were too busy to help before the end of the week.
I've been short handed for 10 out of the last 12 months - with another 3 months to go (at least). I adore my assistant and I want her in good health, but this "can't hire to fill a disability leave void" thing is a PIA.
Dude. Wallybee + billytea = OTP!
Hivemind question: I called the agency last night and left a message with a person last night saying it was important that the head agent call me back that night. He never called. I called him again at 9am and left a message on a machine this time, in which I used the word urgent twice. No call back yet. What time do I call them again?
sj, with the issue you're dealing with, my advice is to call them every 15 minutes until you get someone to talk to you.
Your delegees suck rocks, Suzi. And whoever decided that you dodn't need to hire anyone because you could count on these other people needs a boot to the head.
I don't know what's "right" in that situation, sj, but I think you are justified in calling every couple of hours until they talk to you if they aren't going to return your calls. I'd base how often you call on how urgent your need to talk to him is.
