Mal: Can I come in? Inara: No. Mal: See? That's why I usually don't ask.

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Have a great day, Anne!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thanks! I hope to (it's really hard to get going when there is a cat asleep on my lap).

Our wings are not tired.

Someone make me turn off the tv.

There are many alternatives to the Today Show! If you must have news I've been watching the CNN morning show lately. But there is BBC World News at this hour.

HGTV has Simply Quilts in a half hour. Charmed on TNT. Designing Women on Lifetime. Xena on Oxygen. And Logo has Forbidden Love: the Inashamed Stories of Lesbian Lives. (Really)

Hi Anne! Brendon was unhappy that I delayed his flight when he arrived last night and found out it was opening day for your new stadium. (Like he could have managed to get tickets) But they won! Also, employment good.

We're down to basic cable, so we don't get any of those channels. Oh, well. It goes off soon, anyway. No Regis and Kelly, which is on at 9.

I should have basic cable as much as I watch these days. But the boys require all the sports channels.

I think lounging with the newspaper would be a better plan than morning news shows. That was the morning plan BC. Now the morning shows are background noise to my prepping the kids for school.

Happy Birthday Owen!

We had an outside antenna that picked up 13 stations before we caved and got cable. That was plenty for me. Brendon's grandparents moved in with us for a while and Grandpa required ESPN. It was all over after that. So many channels.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Happy birthday Owen!

I'm kind of pathetically looking forward to having real television again this summer. It's gonna be all-chilling, all-the-time.

And in other randomity! I used less grounds this morning and the coffee? was mm-mm-good. My kashi bar, however, was not. I think carob is probably a thing of wrongness.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Chatty!co-worker talks to his wife on the phone AT LEAST twice a day, every day. Sometimes he calls her, sometimes she calls him -- they mix it up.

Well, yeah, constant communication is because I like him. I see stuff I think he would think is interesting and I pass it on.

I think I am like Betsy in this regard. We do not talk on the phone, during the day, hardly ever, except when I call him on the train to tell him what train I'm on so he can pick me up at the station. Phone calls are all about coordination.

However, we do email back and forth pretty much all day. After spending the weekend together or a holiday, I miss him a little extra on that first morning back at work. We talk about everything and nothing.

And, bah. Tom's going to Atlanta tonight and won't be back till late Friday night. I'm gonna miss him a lot and I feel so lame ass that I'm sad about him being gone. He's off to install software, not off to war. But I get used to Tom being there all the time, and it being generally awesome, and it's lonely feeling when he's not. I feel sort of... off-balance.

So, I guess that might be eye-rolly, but I am really sad, so there's that.

Warning: bitch ahead.

So, I've gotten used to showering at 9am, then doing dishes. I got off a little bit this morning, because I watched the arraignment of Entwistle [link]

During that time, Not!Emily and his GF got up, so now they're in the bathroom. So, I have to wait. I guess it's not that big of a deal. Whatever. But, I swear, if they come out looking for the rest of my coffee (which, there is none), or then make coffee and go looking for my cream (which, there is none), I'm gonna blow a gasket. I'm so sick of "providing" things for them. They're just so used to everything being there, that they don't even think about it. And, only once has Not!Emily given money towards things that I "provide."

Is it September yet?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel so lame ass that I'm sad about him being gone

Hey, you're the sentimental type. Embrace it. You probably can't make yourself less sad without making yourself more tense. That's not a win.
