Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Ha, this actually kind of ties into what my paper discusses...

Yay, more content. Include it as a Spidra quote.

Mmmm, peanut butter is a cure all in my book.

Teppy, cute great cut. And I liked the inner Jilli shot. That blue is yummy for you.

Mostly lurking...

Nora, I'd add "in Academia" at the end.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The interviews went well - I will be SMing for New Conservatory Theatre, and I'll find out in a few days if I have the directing gig.

Very cool. Is this just for one play (the SMing), or more general than that? You'll let us know when the plays are on, right, so we can come applaud?

Also, J, I was hoping I was going to get enough done/feel well enough to make it to the party this evening, but I think that's going to be a no.

Sparky, sorry to hear about the DH's friend.

Nice cut, Steph.

Yay Nora! You're in the home stretch now!

This morning, I went out. I shopped, a lot. The Stanford Mall is freaky. I got bras, and a book, and computer cleaner, and shoes, and steak for dinner tonight, and a week's worth of vegetables.

Must rest now.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

In the last half hour, I have written about a paragraph. I keep trying to figure out the research-paper-speak way to say "about half of the students are Black -- I'm not sure exactly how many, because I didn't ask them how they identify, so it's approximate." On the one hand -- race is complicated and subjective, so guessing by appearance is really a bad idea. On the other hand -- it's relevant when we talk about social justice in education, so I want to convey this idea that a disproportionate number of students in the lower track are in ethnic and language minorities.

What is even happening?

Fay, I'm so glad you're having that cake. Have it for me, please.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the factors in a variety of geographic areas that contribute to women's under-representation in academia. This includes trying to gain understanding of the university culture at work by examining its particular tradition, in the context of the country it operates in and serves; examining global gender expectations pertaining to a woman’s role in bearing children and raising a family in relation to academia; and to discuss potential solutions to this universal issue.

I want to find a way to give you a title which could tie into Calvin & Hobbes G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid of Slimey girlS) club.

She's always doing that to fortune cookies as well.
