Yeah, York is gorgeous. The best/worst bit was climbing to the top of York minster. Great view, climb was bit of a struggle towards the end.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Weird dream. My dreams are usually non-political, which is a great relief given how much of waking life is spent on politics. Last night was an exception. I dreamed the U.S. invaded OZ. (as in wizard of, not Australia or the fictional prison) In retrospect I guess it is funny, but it really was horrid nightmare; Toto was killed quite graphically, as was the entire Lollipop guild. It is funny to tell in a dark humor sort of way, but dreaming it NSM - woke up screaming, and still shaking. No more popcorn close to bedtime.
Laura, have a great time in St. Louis! Yay Nora for hard work!
Getting ready for a busy day. Lunch with a friend at CPK (my favorite!) and then watching the Firefly dvds with another friend.
The big problem, however, is that I can't find my Firefly dvds. I think I loaned them to one of my cousins and never got them back. Damn! I don't really *want* to buy another set of dvds but since I promised my friend that I had them and that we'd watch them, I think I'll be plunking down $25 today after lunch.
No big, really. I can probably get most of my money back by selling them on Ebay. Just an annoying and unexpected inconvenience.
Oh, crap. I just realized I should have already left for SuziQ's house.
SuziQ, I'm only running a little late, honest.
hruumph. I had elborate plans of ignoreing the world watching too many bad movies , puttering around the house, napping and generally ignoreing the world. but the orb is out. so I went to the cafe. and now a very small part is saying go out side and do some much needed yard work.
I just texted the First Amendment to my brother. FTR:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. It's for a speech the neicelet is working on. I was gronkily listening to his message and prepared to blow him off until he said the magical neicelet's name and whooosh I was off to Google.
I don't remember any dreams from last night. Probably for the best, they've been on the disturbing side of odd recently.
She's Hott and Wise; He's Caustic with Eyes. They fight crime.
Oh, I SO have to tag this. May I darling Laura?
Of course, Robin.
Oh Type Boy, I'm thinking you might want to white font part of that dream for vw.
Still doing laundry and stuff. Side of face infected. Kids and pets have caretakers for my mini trip.
Yikes. I hope your cheek gets better soon, Laura.
Ah, beth. We're getting so much rain that when it's not raining it becomes awfully tempting to garden and such because you never known when it'll pour again. Freaky weather. And I'm terrible at predicting what will happen. I would have made a very bad 19th century farmer.
I'm blue. Negotiating the friendship with my ex is a never-ending saga. We didn't have a fight or anything. I'm just tired of him not knowing his own feelings well enough and me having to discover the way he really feels and act on it because he won't. I asked him if he wanted to hang out and watch a video yesterday and he said yes. Then he decided he wanted to watch videos with his household and other things that made it clear to me that he just hadn't had the guts to just say "thanks for asking me but I'd rather hang out with my housemates tonight". Most of my friends have been in long-term relationships for years and I still haven't recovered from how that affects my social life. I'm not the one people call up when they want to hang out. And...well..that makes me blue.
I'm trying to resist the urge to go into depressive hibernation today. So I've bathed and I'm about to do a couple loads of laundry. Then I'll make some hot cocoa as a treat. I think even though it makes me feel like I'm shirking, I'm going to rehearse before I do the part-time telecommute work. I haven't rehearsed fully for this gig yet and it's time for me to make sure I've got all the lyrics nailed down.
On the possible good news front, the SF Chron contacted me on Thursday wanting a higher res picture so they could feature my gig in the 96 Hours section next week. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but if that goes to print, that will be the most visible press I've ever gotten.
Hope all the Bitches are having a swell Saturday.

Bigs bunny: monster rabbit devours English veggie plots
Fri Apr 7, 11:21 AM ET
LONDON (AFP) - In a tale reminiscent of the last Wallace and Gromit movie, furious villagers in northeast England have hired armed guards to protect their beloved communal vegetable gardens from a suspected monster rabbit.
