I've got my mom's old OLD sewing machine from when she was a teenager, and she's pretty sure it was used when they got it.
I have my mom's old Singer Featherlight, from probably about 1930. One of these day's I'm actually going to figure out how to use it, but not now. I'm so behind on knitting and crocheting projects!

I am getting a haircut this afternoon and have decided (for no reason, except I thought it would be fun) not to tell Tom, so I can TA-DA! when he comes home from work.I'm not telling my family (if I can manage not to for the next week) so I can surprise them at Easter. It's not "Preggers!" like my sister pulled but I think my hair will be significantly less controversial as well. Still debating dying it really dark (and no red!) brown. The color it really is? I adore it. But I am thinking that a little darker and me a little paler and it will be more striking for my first trip back from the Pacific Northwest.

I'm completely hardened to unusual mother-daughter giftie things ever since the day at Faire when one of the washerwomen came up all bouncy and happy to announce to one and all that for her 18th birthday, her mother had taken her out to get mother-daughter nipple piercings. There are no words for the squick there. Every day I have occasion to remember it, I pray to God that nobody ever tops it, or if they do, that they don't run up and tell me all about it.

Last night I dreamed I was joining a cult. One of those 'personal development' deals rather than the religious variety. This one (to tie it in with Aimee) involved getting seven tattoos in various places of cultish significance. Not that I got that far.
