[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Whoa, Laura. Overall, I'd say if possible, it's time for your m-i-l to find a new doctor who might actually care what happens to her. She's 61, and active, and he's ready to tell her to essentially sit her ass down for the rest of her life?

She saw another doctor in the same office and he told her she might be having TIAs (stroke) and she should go to the ER. He never asked if she was alone, she was. He never asked how she might get there, she drove. If he thought she was having a stroke why would he let her drive to the ER alone. Grrrrrr
THIS is scary. What if she was having TIAs and crashed the car?
Our theory is that he was busy and just pushing her off as someone else's problem. After chest x-ray, brain scan, blood tests, chest ct, etc. it is decided that she has vertigo. Scripts for something for the vertigo, and valium. She asked why they were giving her valium. In case she is anxious. Good grief. She won't bother to fill that one.
My theory is he is not a good doctor for your mother in law.

I'm glad she's okay. My aunt has vertigo, takes Antivert, and it does help. I hope your m-i-l's treatment works, too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

vw, turn off the tv or turn on something completely mindless.

Have an appointment with the NP this afternoon. So, at least I'm trying to do something.

Our wings are not tired.

She likes her regular doctor. Idiot doctor was another doctor covering in the office since her regular was off. She intends to complain. I hope she doesn't wimp out because idiot doctor scared the crap out of her. If he didn't think she was having a stroke he should have said something else, if he did think she was he shouldn't have sent her off to drive herself to the hospital. Still really annoyed this morning. He literally said to her that it looked to him like her face was droopy on one side and that she might be having TIAs. She should go to the ER. Of course she believed he was right because the vertigo was making her feel so bad. Grrrr. She'll be ok though.

vw, are they talking about the one you are taking now, or the one they took you off of?

So, what do people think about Katie Couric taking over the network news desk? I don't watch the network news anymore, but it strikes me as absurd. This must be a nightmare to Walter Cronkite, my favorite anchor ever.

One I take now. I watched. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It actually looks like I'm probably too old to see the effects. Kind of a weird feeling, actually.

I really like Katie, so I think it's kind of cool. But, well, we'll see.

I don't dislike Katie; I just think she's not anchor material. Too fluffy. There are many excellent women news reporters and anchors that I think would do a better job. I hope she proves me wrong.

I think what she does right now is fluffy. In fact I think that it is absurd how fluffy the Today show has become, but I think she has the potential to do more serious news.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how she comes off when she's not being written to be all fluffy and perky.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Katie Curic usually makes my teeth ache.

We are going to have a fire drill today. It is supposed to be a secret. But I can tell y'all, right?

Ooooo! I know what I should do today. I should fill out my FAFSA online. That should make me feel better...like I'm moving towards something again.
