Well, if we followed the recipe...should be cake. A demon-violence-free-zone cake.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Cash, he might get a touch of diaper rash, if his skin is prone to it, but when my kids were small, my motto was "let sleeping kids sleep".

Now tagless for your comfort.

when my kids were small, my motto was "let sleeping kids sleep"

He's been fighting naps and bedtimes so much lately that I just think this is the best policy. It may stink, but he gets a bath in the evening anyway.

Trust my rage

I think this is an example of where it's best to apply Hec's parenting advice of "good enough parenting". (I think that was the phrase. Anyway, you all know what I mean.)

Oh god I hated that milestone. Giving up the morning nap was not so bad, but when they started giving up the afternoon nap as well. I was ready to drug them both! (kidding...sort of) I still have trouble getting David to bed at night and he's about the only 10 year old I know with insomnia (sucks royally!) I think he's afraid he's going to miss something. OY! I'm vibing Owen nap vibes~~~~~~

Amen.

My boss from BOI just called me to check up on me. I guess one of my e-mails reflected my bad day. She made me laugh, which helped.

I also have a "Trigger Point" massage scheduled for 4pm. I have found a spa that is 3 blocks from my house.

I am going to look for a local massage school for future use.

Always Anti-fascist!

I've always had a difficult time sleeping as far I remember.

I think he's afraid he's going to miss something.

I remember feeling that way as a kid. Nowadays, I'd like to see the thing I wouldn't miss for good night's sleep. (I mean, I really would, because it would have to be amazing.)

Oh man, I hear ya! It has to be something extra special because I loooove sleep. What's funny is that the 14 year old? Usually in bed by 8:30 but my 10 year old? He'd stay up until midnight if he could.

Because books.

Dawn, my boys are like that now -- the 14-year-old is asleep by nine most nights (and sometimes -- gasp! -- takes a nap after school), but the nine-year-old can stay up forever. And still wake up relatively perky in the morning.

This is the part that kills me. When I only get 4 or 5 hours of sleep, I'm a zombie. I can barely make it through the work day, but the 10 year old? Runs around all the whole day playing soccer, and basketball (the only consolation is that on very rare occasions, he'll fall asleep on the drive home but otherwise? He's full of energy!) It's crazy! The 14 year old is sooo not a morning person, we never say anything to her until after breakfast but she's pretty chipper then.
