Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Wanna through a little bit of gasoline on my rage? The doctor's office is closed for the lunch hour--nobody taking calls or even an answering machine. I get to stew about this for another hour.

Susi, I could ask my neighbor. She teaches Hebrew and Jewish studies at Ohio State.

I'm getting the pig!

And this means no more chemo for the next couple of months.

I forgot to say, YAY JEN!

Are they selling flights for $14 now?

Maybe! Plus or minus a little...

Cash, I agree with others that if he can be so flighty to schedule a procedure like that without discussing it with you, you have every right to demand to speak to him asap.

ETA: After the office decides to start answering the phone again... that is.

Go for it Cash, only if you need/want a distraction. Otherwise, I'll let them battle it out for themselves. It is fun watching the e-mails going back and forth.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Damn, Cash, that's just wrong as Wrong Way Corrigan. I wonder, though, if it's possible the second doctor took it upon himself to schedule the procedure based on your pediatrician's questions without consulting him? If you've had a really good relationship with your doctor, I'm really surprised he'd do something like this without your consent.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The current discussion is how that came to mean over the top sentimentality.

I swear I read somewhere that it was by association with the often sentimental Yiddish theatre plays, but Google is not helping me.

Poor Olivia. I find that doctors often do that sort of thing, but he really should have discussed the whys and wherefores with you.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

And I'm pissed at my doctor for making this kind of decision without my knowledge or consent or even telling me what our options are.

absolutely. But consider the possibility that he scheduled the test so that she could have it as soon as possible IF you decided to go through with it. It is entirely possible that he is going to call you like he said, and the scheduler didn't realize the situation. But, be prepared to bitch slap if I'm wrong.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just called a woman who has done some travel planning for me in the past to see if she could get me a good flight to SF. She is going to get back to me in a couple of days. The flights online right now are way too high.

I've swallowed some Midol and choked on my hot tea. After such exciting events, it's hard to believe that I still desperately wish I were in my bed.

I am just happy she is a nice woman, because she is willing to look, even though I told her I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to book it or not.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I found a flight to SF for the F2F weekend for $218. Woot! It flies out of Dayton, but that's okay with me; in fact, there are many many MANY things I prefer about flying out of Dayton vs. Cincinnati. And it's only a 45-minute drive for me.

Now I just need to, you know, book the flight.
