I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Be forewarned, Jars: My older sister calls our younger sister, Karen, Kare-Bear.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

No doubt. My point is merely that Rache is a well-known nickname for Rachel, even though not a name in and of itself (like Joey). Rachel is by no means un-nickable. You don't need to use any originality or tricks to get to Rache, just memory. Unlike your name

So in the future when I say "My parents gave us un-nickable names" I'll be certain to be more specific and explain "My parents gave us names that were not commonly shortened into names which are in and of themselves names though, being of more than one syllable, they were by no means un-nickable"

Kare-Bear.

AAAAAAAAARGHHHH.

What is even happening?

My name, 'Karen', is truly un-nickable. Which is probably why I've had so many actual nicknames in my life. I'm as likely to call myself 'Jars' as 'Karen' in my head at this point.

My best friend Karen usually hears me call her "K" or "Ka" (with the "Ka" sounding like the first syllable of her name). "K" is one of her preferred names for herself. The Ka (which I which I could better represent phonetcially) is just laziness, and most of us (her friends and family) are lazy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'll be certain to be more specific and explain "My parents gave us names that were not commonly shortened into names which are in and of themselves names though, being of more than one syllable, they were by no means un-nickable"

If that's what you mean, you should certainly say it.

My name, 'Karen', is truly un-nickable.

I see others have gotten there first. But I've also heard Kar.

What is even happening?

And this is surprising?

Yes vw, when it shouldn't be at all, given my age and track-record. That is is surprising is also surprising in its own way.

BTDT, Cindy.

You know what? I think it's worse when you like and respect Those Other People, because you can't just demonize them. Where's the fun in that?

I'm playing hookie for a couple of hours from my conference. Hehehehehehehe

I suppose 'K' could work, but 'Ka' has never even come up. It doesn't sound like a name to me. Like that car.

If that's what you mean, you should certainly say it.

This is actually the very first time ever in some decades that it has been necessary.
