Went by the bank and explained the situation. They made the deposit, but are mailing the deposit slip directly to Emily, so as not to give me the number. And they said the cash would be available immediately. So, all is well.
For the record, anybody who wants to put money in my account is free to do so.
Years ago I called my father's office and had his secretary try to correct my pronounciation of his name. I loved answering "And who may I say is calling" with "his daughter".
Granted, his name is foreign and many people mess it up, but that should be up to him to correct, not his assistant.
Mmmm, Suzi-Qs were my favorite junk food snack in the world! The sugar rush from the cream filling in those was beyond that of a 32oz. Big Gulp Mountain Dew. I can get down with the name change, it fits perfectly as far as I'm concerned.
vw, glad to hear everything worked out at the bank, money can be such a PITA even if it is fun to spend on clothes and stuff.
I expect grief with my first name, and so am especially aggrieved when people get shirty about my PERFECTLY NORMAL middle name.

So now I'm a junk food. Not sure how I feel about that. I'm definitely not sugary sweet.
Are you back home now, Sail?
My only complaint is when people spell my name with an H. Or call me Nikki.
for billytea: penguin cam
My name doesn't get messed up too much. In the official version, I sometimes get ruh'-shell as a pronunciation, but not often.
But, my maiden name was Thompson, and about 1 in 5 people would say Thomas. WTF?
How do people do things like have careers or write books with (pre-)toddlers? Seriously. Other than child care, all that was on my list today was to revise one 5000-word story, and not one word got revised.
It is almost feeding time for the penguins ( 1030 board time)
My BFF's name is Lauren. When we lived in England, people would constantly refer to her as Maureen. We were puzzled.
