[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Fay, a friend of mine who is what may be referred to as a 'fat chick' taught English in Thailand for a year and had absolutely no problems. Everyone loved her, from what I could gather.

Our wings are not tired.

Lie vw. You can do it! You could change your mind. You haven't made a decision on where yet. Lots of ways to make it not a lie.

Laura, you sure are lucky to have all this great advice on kitties.

Ain't that the truth. As I was pondering it in my head I thought how wonderful that all I have to do is ask here and the solutions will appear. Nifty that!

Is your lease a Sept 1 lease?

Yes.

betting they want to show it to students to move in for Sept 1, before they leave town for the summer.

I bet that's probably it, but really, I don't care. Not my problem. We have the right to a peaceful living environment, and right now I need that peaceful living environment.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

And again, thank you. Seriously. Much appreciated.

My body image demons really don't need any encouragement. At all.

Oh, yeah. I certainly wasn't suggesting that you give a crap about their motivations, just was speculating. 60 days notice is fine. Once we gave notice at our apartment, it felt like we didn't have one lick of privacy, and it was super stressful.

I'm getting the pig!

Fay, from everything I've heard from friends that've been to Thailand, you should be just fine.

vw, five months is way too early and it's not really a lie because a lot can happen in five months. In three months, you might decide you want to stay again. Not your problem right now.

It's actually kind of funny. After the first year I lived here, we had to keep asking to get the new lease. I think we finally got it in November. Then last year, she was on our case to find a new roommate on HER schedule, so she could make up the new lease the beginning of August. But, this is out of control.

I think she knows we're not going to stay. We've been pretty complainy this year...not about little things...all valid things to be complainy about, but still.

The thing is, this has been a revolving apartment since 1998. That's eight years. They need to do some serious work in here before they re-rent it. It *at least* needs to be painted, but they should replace the tub (and maybe the stove) and fix some of the floors. It's kind of in rough shape...just normal wear and tear after 8 years. But, that's also not my problem. If they want to try to just re-rent it, whatev.

They will start repairs as soon as they know you are leaving.

Those bastards.

Speaking of bastards. I just sent a nasty e-mail to my Abnormal Psych prof from this semester...the one who decided he didn't want to work with me, so I withdrew from the class early on. He's kept me on the class e-mail list, which is just annoying. So, I sent him an e-mail to make him feel guilty. Sometimes I'm a little evil.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

There are special exemptions in the lying code. It's fine to lie to landlords, telemarketers and creditors. It's also okay to lie to your parents if the truth would upset them. Then there's that "weight" entry on the driver's license application....

vw, have you tried pinning the dangling cord to your clothes?

Hec's soon-to-be-ex employers? Still suck.

Gronk. I was up until 3 because of a concert and then talking with the performers and friends. I must have more self-control than I thought, because half the audience never stopped talking and I restrained my desire to yell "Shut the fuck up." This was more annoying because the performances were great. I think I may have a rather long rant on the subject in me.
