You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

I'm getting the pig!

Fay, from everything I've heard from friends that've been to Thailand, you should be just fine.

vw, five months is way too early and it's not really a lie because a lot can happen in five months. In three months, you might decide you want to stay again. Not your problem right now.

It's actually kind of funny. After the first year I lived here, we had to keep asking to get the new lease. I think we finally got it in November. Then last year, she was on our case to find a new roommate on HER schedule, so she could make up the new lease the beginning of August. But, this is out of control.

I think she knows we're not going to stay. We've been pretty complainy this year...not about little things...all valid things to be complainy about, but still.

The thing is, this has been a revolving apartment since 1998. That's eight years. They need to do some serious work in here before they re-rent it. It *at least* needs to be painted, but they should replace the tub (and maybe the stove) and fix some of the floors. It's kind of in rough shape...just normal wear and tear after 8 years. But, that's also not my problem. If they want to try to just re-rent it, whatev.

They will start repairs as soon as they know you are leaving.

Those bastards.

Speaking of bastards. I just sent a nasty e-mail to my Abnormal Psych prof from this semester...the one who decided he didn't want to work with me, so I withdrew from the class early on. He's kept me on the class e-mail list, which is just annoying. So, I sent him an e-mail to make him feel guilty. Sometimes I'm a little evil.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

There are special exemptions in the lying code. It's fine to lie to landlords, telemarketers and creditors. It's also okay to lie to your parents if the truth would upset them. Then there's that "weight" entry on the driver's license application....

vw, have you tried pinning the dangling cord to your clothes?

Hec's soon-to-be-ex employers? Still suck.

Gronk. I was up until 3 because of a concert and then talking with the performers and friends. I must have more self-control than I thought, because half the audience never stopped talking and I restrained my desire to yell "Shut the fuck up." This was more annoying because the performances were great. I think I may have a rather long rant on the subject in me.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Fay, the Thai women I know are all tiny things themselves just by the luck of the genetic draw, but the important part is that they just don't give a shit about body size in the way westerners do. You'll be fine. In fact, if my Thai friends are any indication, you'll do better than fine, because it also seems to be a terrifically warm and friendly culture all around.

What is even happening?

So, do I tell her we don't have to tell her yet, or do I lie and say we haven't decided? I hate lying, but I just don't feel like dealing with this right now.

I think you can say no without lying. You and Emily would like to leave when your lease is up, but it's not like you have a place lined up, right?

There's got to be an answer along the lines of, "Our lease isn't up until [date], right?"

She'll probably repeat the thing about the agents, and then you could say, "Oh, I can understand that, but there's no way we could ever plan a move to a new rental, X months ahead of time. If we were to find a new place, we would of course give you the required 30 days notice, and any other extra time we could, on top of that, too. I hope you know that."

In other words, you can't control how she frames the question, but you are not required to give her the kind answer she's looking for, either.

I'm getting the pig!

Tip of the day: Don't put on lotion (good smelly brown sugar and fig lotion) and *then* attempt to remove the stainless steel lid from your coffee (hot tea, actually) mug. Results will be less than satisfactory.

What are people doing this weekend? Anything exciting planned? I'm hoping to veg quite a bit but I'll gladly live vicariously through others...

Nothing exciting planned for the weekend. Research paper-induced house arrest. Christ, I'll be glad when this fucker is done.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ginger - Regarding the weight entry on ones driver's license. Mine overstates my weight by over 50 lbs. I really should get that fixed.

Ummmm - Hi folks. I'm home again and trying to get caught up. I have skipped so I have no meara. I'm a bad buffista.

Mom is still in the hospital, but doing ok. She is hoping to come home today, but who knows. They are still looking for answers as to why her body chemistry tried to stage a sabotage.

K-Bug passed her driver's license test on her birthday but has yet to go for a solo drive. I'm not sure if I should encourage that or not. I know it WILL happen eventually.

Enough meme...how is everyone else?
