Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

What IS it with this thread? We obtain boys, frolic with same, and then they act inscrutable!

Oops. I think I'm doing it wrong.

So! Wallybee came over for dinner last night. First, I must note that she looked amazing. Gorgeous outfit, plus haircut and new glasses. And she has now met members of my family, being my younger brothers (the ones in Melbourne). She thought Brendan was intelligent and funny, and you'll be happy to know that Keiran was on his best behaviour and only said "Mad cunt" twice. (Not in relation to the Wallybee.)

Herding cats for fun

Happy Birthday to Libkitty, (one of) our Librarian Warlords! Hope the day is filled with yummy things that make you happy.

ChiKat, I would happily go big-girl thrifting with you. There's a nice consignment place over near Suzi in Alameda, too.

Trying to remember if getting together with DH ever felt like Big Cinematic Luv. I'm pretty sure it started out in the cozy and comfortable aisle instead. Except for the screaming monkeys in my head jabbering "ohmygoshohmygoshohnowhat'sgonnahappen?"

Our bug's headgear looks soooo much less threatening than I'd imagined. If you draw a tiny scratch just at your hairline with an eyeliner, you'll look like you have a tiny movie-star injury. Something that may possibly help with itching: When I had a cast on my leg, I would aim the hairdryer into it instead of poking a bottle brush in there to scratch. Maybe it was just the fact that I was Doing Something that helped me.

Trying very hard to focus on a project that I haven't been able to finish for years and years. Either I put it off, or I re-do something for the umpteenth time. It makes me feel awfully guilty.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Okay. The yowling kitty issue is about to be brought to the attention of the office. It's mind numbing but instead of actually numbing - searing pain. I'm feeling guilty as hell but hopefully they will know where the cat is supposed to live.

How pathetic is it that I'm currently sitting here wheezing, because I don't want to have to record that I took my inhaler?

I'm stupid. It would have taken less energy to record that than typing this message, but it is what it is.

ION, Emily is currently out buying me benadryl. She's such a good roommate.

TV news psychic

Delurking (again) to ask a crochet question. What is the best way to attach a new skein/ball? I'm "teaching" myself using "Crocheting for Dummies," and their way seems to unraval or not stay joined to whatever I'm working on. Thanks in advance.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay!! I'm all over that!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Okay, well now I'm fired.

Two weeks severance. I got more than that when I got laid off from a part-time job.

Get this. They turned off my computer and blocked my access while I was in the office getting canned.

I know that's not uncommon, but jesus christ, I just told her yesterday that I knew I was going to be fired. I would've wreaked my vengeance weeks ago if that was my intention. Fortunately, I won't have to do anything because a lot of my tables are on my computer and if they wipe those they're going to lose a fair amount of data. Whatev. I did tell them that if they wiped my computer they'd lose data, but she just nodded and said IT would take care of that. They don't fucking know what they need to save. Not my problem now.

Sidenote: Three minutes before I was called in, new coworker cluelessly comes into my office and asks me where we can re-order the state unemployment pamphlets. The same one I got seconds later. Of course, Weasel Boss had told her to get more because she'd just gone to the drawer to get one for my package.

Benefits end tomorrow night. I'll have JZ fax the term letter to EM so we can get Emmett switched over seamlessly. I've guess I've got some time to do COBRA if I want.

I didn't really say anything except, "Okay."

Oh! Weasel Boss said, "You surprised me yesterday when you came in. At that time I didn't know any specific details." OMG, so mealymouthed. So self-justifying.

I walked out of Weasel's office, and realized that I had to give them my timesheet for this pay period because I had overtime. (They'll send it to me. It'll be worth a couple hundred extra.) And they had forgotten to ask for my badges.

God, they suck.

I almost forgot. The reason? My performance was inconsistent.

They won't contest unemployment benefits.

I'm off to put these checks (severance, vacation cashout) in the bank.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I just leave a long tail (5-6")of the new yarn, holding it awkwardly with my pinky for a couple of stitches, and weave it in when I'm done, Fern.

Ugh. Well, at least it's over, Hec.

Pricks.

-t pretty much does what I do.

Hec, that sucks beyond measure, but in some ways, I'm glad it's over. I hope you're able to find something wonderful soon.
