Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I am, however, greatly impressed by how much he got done while I was at work, injured foot or no. Made ribs, chili and popped a chicken in the crockpot. He would have attempted Trudy's milk-braised pork roast but forgot the roast in the back of the van last night. Not that that is a problem. With this weather, spoiling is not on the agenda. Freezer burn, maybe, but spoiling? NSM. Cleaned the kitchen, and cleaned off the media storage shelf-y thing near the front door such that it was possible to move the fountain onto the top of it.

That was an important thing to do because we suspect the cats of drinking out of it, and wish to not encourage them to get up on kitchen counters, where the fountain had been.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

MmmMmmmmm rum. I could do that, but not with you, unfortunately.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

How are you?

Feeling mellow, m'dear. My daughter cleaned the living room, today and did a little furniture rearranging. I'm sure going to miss the cheap labor when she finds a place of her own.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

but I had a very good reason not to - sleeping in, wandering Chinatown with a cute boy, sleeping, eating dinner with my friend. So. Yes, it's been a good day.
Eeeeehhhhhhxxxxxxcellent reason.

I should be drinking ... something. Have puppycat flopped asleep on my legs and, while I don't mind bothering her, she's a little furnace. Need cabana boy to fetch me drinks.

When you're done with the cabana boy, send him over here, Cass. I really want a drink but I'm too lazy to get out of my chair right now.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I thought i was starting a new LJ interest, but it didn't take my phrase, so I added dashes, and it turns out someone started the interest 6 days ago.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Is your BP good? Your cholesterol? Your blood sugar? Then good god, why does your doctor need to cram you into a line on a chart?

Yep, everything's fine. I've always had a stable blood sugar, and while the risk of adult-onset diabetes is high for my family (it manifested in both maternal grandparents) it doesn't seem to happen until 65+.

Feh. Doctor is jealous of the hottness that is SA.

Thanks Laura. :)

And I saw your last picture. You look good to me. And it is way more important that you are happy with yourself

This is what I think too! If I like myself and I'm healthy, what's the point?

hello, new thread!

It is eleven degrees here. On thursday, it was 66. Does anyone else see a huge discrepancy there?

And it's Girl Scout cookie time! I can't believe I've been eating the entire box of lemon coolers my friend got for an entire year. Ah, good times.

Of course, Sail. He's just got to massage my neck and shoulders for a few minutes and then I can spare him for a little while. He's fabulous at fetching the perfect drink.

(What? He's my fantasy. And in my fantasy, he's got mad bartending skillz as well.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Did not drink anything. There are minors present, and while that's not really a factor, it's a reasonable excuse for the fact that I just didn't feel like alcohol tonight. DH made chili, and it was fabuloso and yummy. Every element in it was cooked through so it really shouldn't have been a problem, but I think it probably should have cooked longer, possibly through the night. We all had at least two bowls, several of us with diced cheddar on top, and...how shall I say? Um, flatulence has reigned supreme throughout the evening. Thank goodness the guys went outside to the big, nearly empty garage to play basketball--which I understand somehow involved hurling the five-year-old between the two "adults", but ??? Activity should have helped, but I fear there's a palpable fug about the old homestead tonight. Ah well, if it gets colder, we could maybe keep warm by figuring out a way to safely burn the methane?

ION, StE was sunbathing, striped to the waist in the sun and out of the breeze yesterday. Today? Snow! Which turned to rain and didn't stick, but still. Weather whiplash.
