'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Groceries still in the car? Umm...I have bleach, garbage bags and receptacles for my electric litter box in my car right now because I have been too lazy busy to carry them up to my apartment for the past..ohhh....3 weeks.

vw, glad you got the package! Yay!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The fuck.

Just went into nice boss office and said, "Hey I think my job is in jeopardy. Be straight with me, what's happening?"

And she said, "I'm looking you in the eye and I haven't heard anything like that."

So she's either spectacularly out of the loop, or they're putting it off until the end of April. Or she's looking me in the eye and lying her ass off.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My car is filled with stuff that I am either too lazy to carry in or are just too heavy for me. I wait until Dave or Mom comes over and put them to work. I can't say how much I am looking forward to being in am apartment where you walk up the porch steps (I think there is 4 of them) and then you walk right into the apartment with no more stairs.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hec, that sucks. Is it possible that they are trying to keep you on for a few more months while the new guy learns the job? What is the timeline you got from your source?

Always Anti-fascist!

My money's on the lie, Hecubus, bunk. But I'm pulling for the extra ducats. "Everybody lies. Some because they have to, some because they want to, and some for the pure joy of it." Yes, I can quote "A Year On The Killing Streets" more easily than the Bible. Guess I'll never be President.

What is even happening?

If she's really nice, I'm voting that she's out-of-the-loopy, and probably that she's been kept out of the loop, for plausible deniability, in just such a situation. Either that, or the source is wrong.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah. Maybe. I'm bitter and my soul is warped.

Trust my rage

In nice!Boss's situation, the only way I'd be able to lie is if I'd already thought about the situation and had thought through my answer. I'm not saying I would but only that I'd be unable to be so smooth without preparation. I find the whole "we've decided to fire someone (not for cause) but aren't going to tell them for a while" very weird. It would stress me out if I knew about it.

What is even happening?

Maybe? I'm disappointed erika, kinda like you'd just indicated there might be no Santa Claus.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yeah. Maybe. I'm bitter and my soul is warped.

Heh, you and me both - I was just idly wondering if Hec's source was trying to get him to do something stupid/burn some bridges for either personal gain or just plain maliciousness. But I'm a tad on the paranoid side myself.
