Why couldn't Giles have shackles like any self-respecting bachelor?

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Sharon Stone... the only parts of her face that move are her lower jaw and her eyelids. Its botoxifying.

Wait till she gets her nictating membrane implants, then it'll be just her lower jaw.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Thanks. Honestly, anti-depressants have made a big difference for me. Much as I hate to admit it.

Not that I have any wonderful ideas, but are you wedded to the Bay Area, or open to relocation?

Shotgun-wedded. I became a part-owner of a house a little more than a year ago. I think the only thing I'd give that up for is meeting the Swede/Norwegian/Dane/Irishman/Kiwi/Brit/Dutchmen/Aussie of my dreams who'd like to sweep me off my feet and take me to a much more civilized land...

There are jobs here. Things have defrosted quite a bit. I'm just hemmed in by bad decisions (under the influence of low self-esteem) from my past. And I'm not sure how best to proceed. I'd rather not do more of the same, yet it seems impossible to just jump into what I'd rather be doing. So I need to plot some rational achievable steps to moving into work I'd rather be doing. And I get scared about whether I'm making the right moves because that's what I thought I was doing before - taking the right steps to eventually getting better work.

Then she can star in a remake of "Lair of the White Worm".

Uh oh.

Have restoked my Amanda Donahoe fantasies...

The status is NOT quo.

Nothing shameful about anti-depressants, Spidra. I'm sorry things have been so difficult lately.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Feel free to tell me it's none of my business or that you've posted it here a thousand times already and I'm just oblivious, but what is it that you would really like to be doing?

{{{Spidra}}} I hope the next step reveals itself to you soon and that it pays well.

Well, I always wanted to be an artist. But that's not going to be happening for a while for many reasons. So I have to find something fulfilling to do while I'm trying to get there. I like working in libraries, doing research in the humanities, troubleshooting Macintosh (mostly) problems, helping improve processes and help manage projects and other things. But so much of what I'm seeing available is working on stuff that doesn't feel like it matters much. I had problems with my current job, but at least I believed in the product.

Well, I'm off to my ex's house to shamelessly redeem a hug coupon.

eta: and thanks for the good wishes. It really does mean alot.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Where's that site that has the whole gallery of short haircuts you always link to? I'm getting a trim on Wednesday and am looking to go a little less modern and a little more classic (but still somewhat funky). I thought that site would be a good place to browse through.

I've got that bookmarked at work. I'll put some links up tomorrow. Must keep Kristin perfectly pretty in all particulars.

Good luck, Spidra. You surely deserve a livelihood commensurate with your many talents and wealth of knowledge. (For those of you who've never had the pleasure of her company, she's expert in most pre-WWII American musical genres. She knows how to blues blow! Which is uh, like blowing a raspberry musically. Think of the King Orang in the animated Jungle Book when he's playing his lips like a trumpet.)

At least there are plenty of librarians here to find library openings. Unfortunately, they don't tend to pay all that well. You sound like you would be perfect for some recent jobs here, but I guess that's not all that much help, huh.

I hope something works out for you soon, and I'm so glad you're taking care of yourself in the meantime. It's not the same from a distance, but big hugs {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Spidra}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
