Feel free to tell me it's none of my business or that you've posted it here a thousand times already and I'm just oblivious, but what is it that you would really like to be doing?
Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I hope something turns up quickly, Spidra.
{{{Spidra}}} I hope the next step reveals itself to you soon and that it pays well.
Well, I always wanted to be an artist. But that's not going to be happening for a while for many reasons. So I have to find something fulfilling to do while I'm trying to get there. I like working in libraries, doing research in the humanities, troubleshooting Macintosh (mostly) problems, helping improve processes and help manage projects and other things. But so much of what I'm seeing available is working on stuff that doesn't feel like it matters much. I had problems with my current job, but at least I believed in the product.
Well, I'm off to my ex's house to shamelessly redeem a hug coupon.
eta: and thanks for the good wishes. It really does mean alot.
Where's that site that has the whole gallery of short haircuts you always link to? I'm getting a trim on Wednesday and am looking to go a little less modern and a little more classic (but still somewhat funky). I thought that site would be a good place to browse through.
I've got that bookmarked at work. I'll put some links up tomorrow. Must keep Kristin perfectly pretty in all particulars.
Good luck, Spidra. You surely deserve a livelihood commensurate with your many talents and wealth of knowledge. (For those of you who've never had the pleasure of her company, she's expert in most pre-WWII American musical genres. She knows how to blues blow! Which is uh, like blowing a raspberry musically. Think of the King Orang in the animated Jungle Book when he's playing his lips like a trumpet.)
At least there are plenty of librarians here to find library openings. Unfortunately, they don't tend to pay all that well. You sound like you would be perfect for some recent jobs here, but I guess that's not all that much help, huh.
I hope something works out for you soon, and I'm so glad you're taking care of yourself in the meantime. It's not the same from a distance, but big hugs {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Spidra}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Snuggles, ~ma, and lots of love all around.
MeMeMe news, two things to note:
1. I scored 100% on the signing test at work. Open book test, I actually used the book much less than I thought I would.
2. Harvey begged Daniel to let him snuggle with him all night. Not such a hot idea with Daniel's allergies, but Daniel is thinking about letting the cat sleep with him. It's so heart-breaking to have to deny such a snuggly request. Too bad Harvey took out his frustration at being turned down by beating up on Sammie. I had to give him a laundry-basket time-out, for a couple minutes. Then he went after her again, with more vigor. So then I gave him a longer time-out in the soft-sided pet carrier. After I let him out, Sammie climbed into it. And Harvey pounced on top. At the moment, Sammie is still in there.
Poor upset kitties...
There is a cat caterwauling outside right now and it is breaking my heart. Did the same thing last night. Has a collar on but no tag on it. I fear that it used to live here and it now desperate to come back. Or just would like to meet the girls that live here. I am a sucker for a kitty making sad noises.
Ah, Mssr. Hecubus, your estimation of my knowledge of pre-WWII flatters me. I'm just a dilettante and a fan.
Hug coupon redeemed and I'm better for it (if a bit unrequitedly horny...).
Cass, I always thought those disturbing cat yowls were from cats in heat. But I'm not really a cat expert...
Congrats on your test results, WindSparrow!
The cat just flung itself against my door.
It is going between my door and the other door on this (upper) landing and making the kind of howling noises I got from my cats when I first caged them and put them in the car. I am torn between very sad and very annoyed. Why put a collar on a cat and not put a tag on it? I want an owner to call.
