Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

got a question for the hivemind -- what do you do when someone that you don't know makes a racist comment on a friend's livejournal? I don't know who the commenter is, but I've seen them on a bunch of friends lists. It may or may not be someone I know/have met, but I don't know who it is.

I'm pretty chill when it comes to race, I joke about it a lot, and my friends know that they can joke around me, but it really bothers me when people who don't know me make jokes (which in this case was unnecessary and not funny). Should I comment? and what should I say besides "WTF, you insensitive bastard".

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I would give the person whose LJ it was a chance to respond, then if they didn't, respond myself. Depending on my relationship with the friend, I might tell them I was going to do so, but usually I wouldn't bother.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think I would comment, but in a very restrained way - all depending on how bad the initial comment was, I guess.

She much prefers to bite the tubes until there's a hole and then making icky faces because she just got a mouthful of Neosporin. Or Desitin. Whichever.

Hey, that's how Lucy does it too! Dogs and toddlers have a kind of similar outlook on like, I think. Em, OTOH, will likely grow out of it sooner or later.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

For billytea and other zoo-istas: we went to the National Zoo this weekend. Saw various buffista-associated animals including 2 capybara, naked mole rats, baby panda. Photos start here: [link]

Get that Emeline a tube of kiddie toothpaste to gnaw on - less icky whe she breaks through. (Not grownup toothpaste as flouride isn't good for you in big bites).

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oooh, flea, excellent critter pictures. Also, lovely picture of you and your critters (present and incipient).

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

That's a hard one, because some people aren't going to be worth your keystrokes or your mellow.

If you decide you want to address it Vortex, maybe you could make reply with something along the lines of, "I've been trying to assume you meant to be funny and inoffensive with this remark, but it just keeps striking me otherwise."
