Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

For billytea and other zoo-istas: we went to the National Zoo this weekend. Saw various buffista-associated animals including 2 capybara, naked mole rats, baby panda. Photos start here:

Aww. Your zoos are big with the mole rat love. All across America, people are waking up to the magic of mole rats!

vw bug, welcome back!!!!!!!!eleventy

got a question for the hivemind -- what do you do when someone that you don't know makes a racist comment on a friend's livejournal? I don't know who the commenter is, but I've seen them on a bunch of friends lists. It may or may not be someone I know/have met, but I don't know who it is.
That's a hard one, because some people aren't going to be worth your keystrokes or your mellow.

If you decide you want to address it Vortex, maybe you could make reply with something along the lines of, "I've been trying to assume you meant to be funny and inoffensive with this remark, but it just keeps striking me otherwise."

We've had 'em in Columbus for a long time, IJS.

Crap. Because I didn't get an email yesterday, I've missed out on a $10 Little Tike car & scooter for Owen that was listed on Craigslist. Feh.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Just another quick post before I head to the airport.

No news from mom, which leads me to believe she is still stuck in emergency waiting for a room to be available.

K-Bug passed her driving test - watch out folks. Her tester was a very thorough dude who wanted her to share the cake a friend had given her. Then the computer almost didn't authotize the license since TODAY is her birthday and marks the 6 months since she got her permit. They had to do an override.

Ok. Time to check the bag and make sure I remembered all the stuff I need for this silly trip.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So, I've been looking for Paris apartment rentals (DH and I are going in September for our 5-year anniversary), and I noticed this on one of the sites.

F2F2007 in Marrakech, anyone?

Suzi, all the best to your mom. I hope you and K have a good time. I'm so glad she passed her test!

Jess, is E okay, now?

Cashmere, how'd Olivia do, today? Did she nap, or was she all wired from her long sleep last night? I thought of you several times today, while toddler wrangling. One went one way, the other went t'other way, both had snotty noses, and were tired and cranky (because they miss their mommy mostly, and only know me a little bit).

He's going to be popping Tylenol for the next week (maybe Vicodin -- so far, the Tylenol is enoug), but he's fine. It was outpatient/local anaesthetic, nothing serious.

Good. I'm glad to hear it. I almost popped the recovery room nurse in the nose, when Ben had his outpatient procedure last Fall. She was so cranky with a ten year old (who'd been under general anesthesia and was in pain) I couldn't believe it (and I'm a generally cranky person, so I cut the cranky a decent amount of slack).
