Yay!!!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yay!!!
Sorry for the annoying day, sj.
I have a question. Has anyone here ever had shingles? My sister has just been diagnosed with it. I've googled, but I didn't know if anyone had any first-hand advice.

Take the entire course of anti-virals, and learn to love your ibuprofen. That's all I did.

(claps) More than I can say sometimes.
I like the jacket. They had me at "velvet," and the brown would live happily with the other earth tones in my wardrobe. Except this is thinking about going to live with you, so unless we hang out, our color coordination will probably not apply. Imagine everybody complaining about our clashing outfits.

Thanks. I think my coping skills are just gone today. I really needed my therapy appointment today, and if it was just that his wife was sick and he had cancelled I could have dealt with that. But instead he started my appointment 10 minutes late, pretty much ignored me once I was in his office, answered his phone twice, and then sent me off. He also didn't seem to understand why he should have responded to my e-mail from last week about being sick. Getting depressed because of my health is one of the major issues we are dealing with. I am thinking it might be time to start looking for a new therapist, since this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened.
Am I willing to spend $88 on a jacket that I would very carefully have to soak in a dye bath, thus turning it into crushed silk-rayon velvet? [link]
I suspect I'm not willing to. But goodness, it's pretty.
Is it because it's blue you'd want to dye it?

Yep. I don't wear a lot of blue.
... okay, I just re-read the description, and it closes with six buttons that are underneath all the other, purely decorative buttons. If I have a jacket like that, I want all the gazillion little buttons to be functional. Yes, because I'm crazy.
I like the lines, but fear it would look boxy in a 16.
I think it looks boxy in the illustration, and would look boxy on a 6. It's not a flattering cut.
Jilli, you aren't, because you'd also probably have to make sewing alterations to allow for your bustline, and at that price, buy the fabric and make someone sew it for you.
Oh dear lord, I want this dress. [link]
