Many happy returns of the day, Raq! (The day's not quite over, at least not here.)
Tons o' job ~ma for the Bay Area.
Hec, I'm sorry about how this is working out, but I must admit that I'm having a blast reading about it. I would never have the gumption to follow through on the sick leave and consulting fees, etc., but it's great to read about. Of course, better yet would be good!boss with no bad!boss.
I already told boss that I'm coming in tomorrow morning briefly to take care of stuff and then taking a sick day. She was fine with that.
Whew, I caught up!
Happy birthday Raq, happy late birthdays to Mal and to Pete. Yay for Nora being back!
Plus they're totally shooting themselves in the foot.
Hec, much jobma. I'm so glad they're screwing themselves so well. I'm vindictive that way.
Yay for Cass! I'm glad the move went (though I can't say well, since the breakage), and yay for fireplaces and races on cable and Indy swag.
(Belated) interview ma for Katie. I'm so glad it went well and that you had the sparkly blanket of power.
Finance-ma for Mr. Sparky, however it works out.
'Hey, I'm fabulous'
I absolutely agree. Fay is fabulous. Kara is right now checking out starfall dot com and loving it. Yay!
I apparently have a boy.
Yay for SA boyage and Tep's umfriendedness. I'm very happy for the recent Wallybee reports.
ION, the bond was approved on our house and the closing is on the 30th. We will be moving in to our very own new home in a week. About a week and a half later, my parents will be showing up. They're bringing us a rat terrier that was abandoned by one of our relatives who used to live in their area. My mom is going to test drive my sewing machine and make purses, capes and sundresses for Kara. Dad is going to fix the wonky house-wiring and build a playhouse with a swing and a slide attached, and fence the backyard. I'm going to build a sand box and put all Aidan's big trucks in it, and we're all going to have fun. I can't wait.
I can lead simple East Coast Swing. I can lead polka, waltz, simple American style tango, foxtrot, etc. But I like to get a chance to follow too. It makes me feel unfeminine when I get stuck leading just 'cause I'm the tall chick.
Well, I'm up for Swing or Waltz, and I bet I could Polka with minimal coaching. Wish I could offer to trade off lead/follow duties, but I really can't. Not only am I the short chick, but I'm so bad about anticipating that I decided early in that I'm not allowed to lead Swing - so I can't go "aha! I recognize move X!" And take off doing it when he was in fact leading move Q.
Maybe we could train some of our boys in a simple East Coast?
Congratulations, Deena! And much luck for continued smooth sailing on the house closing.
Groceries being delivered tomorrow.
And I smell caramel. Not sure why.
Yay! Mrs. Deena Homeowner!
And sounds like you have an excellent plan to get things rolling in the new house.
Yay! New House!
Hec, I hope your leaving screws them over royally. I know I've been laid off from at least one company where my exit wound up costing them much more than it would have had they just continued to pay me my salary. It wasn't the complete financial collapse I was hoping for, but it gave me a little happy.
Yay, Deena! Your backyard is going to be so much fun!
My DH can lead, but neither of us is very good. We're composed of 4 left feet having some fun.
