Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Rant warning.
When Bec was working at the retirement home, they had a selection of videos for the residents with dementia and such like to watch. Generally very soothing options, old musicals or romances, a couple of National Geographic specials. But I could never understand why they also had a copy of
Robocop.
Meanwhile! Wallybee has been given an interpreting assignment tonight, at 10 pm! This is crazy talk, she's normally in bed by then. But her loss is my gain, for I get to give her a lift to her assignment. (Not back, because she doesn't know what time it'll finish. But I would, if she asked. This is not a difficult cost-benefit analysis.) And guess what I found today? Chocolate penguins! They have a mango centre, apparently. I think she'll be stoked.
Andi, I, too dislike horror films. I also can't handle "psychological thrillers". I have a friend (a psychologist, even) who loves these kinds of movies. I just dislike the emotional discomfort they cause me. I don't know why some people enjoy that.
Some people juggle geese.
Oh, the hotness! I almost can't stand it!
Gris, I am SO very sorry. I had such high hopes for you two.
Kristin, how very disappointing, because that is just gorgeous...and gorgeous on you.
WindSparrow, that is totally frustrating, and I get it. I hate those kinds of movies too. Went to a horror film with a friend and her daughters last summer to see if I was over the fear, and spent the whole movies with my eyes shut, swearing I would NEVER do it again. Steal that remote! Take charge!
And guess what I found today? Chocolate penguins! They have a mango centre, apparently. I think she'll be stoked.
FUN! There's a shop in Harvard Square called LA Burdicks, and they make dark chocolate penguins that are to die for: [link]
Busy day today. Therapist is calling at 9. Must call and make appointment with psychopharm (for hopefully today or tomorrow). Then I'm off to work for a few hours to wrap things up. And when I get home, we're going to do laundry. Meant to do that yesterday, but seizures got in the way. BUT, for those of you keeping track at home, I did dishes! There's still a few that need to be done, but they are mostly done. YAY!
That's a big yay, vw! I hope your day goes well.
Right now, I'm trying to get my head out of "home sick" mode and into "go to work" mode. I'm feeling much, much better, but I'm also having to tell myself that I'll probably be wiped by the time quittin' time rolls around this afternoon.
Awww...I'm sorry you're still feeling yucky. Good luck at work today!
Thanks! Now to get dressed and out of here...
Nice numbar vw. I think it's a sign that you have a dandy day ahead. Yay for clean dishes. Mine, not so much.
And guess what I found today? Chocolate penguins! They have a mango centre, apparently. I think she'll be stoked.
And who wouldn't be. Of course since she has fallen already this might kill her ded.
Pace yourself Anne. You don't want to go two steps back. Some energy~ma sent your way.
I love horror movies (not slasher because lame). Fortunately my kids love them too. And yet I would never suggest that someone who doesn't enjoy them watch. Grrrrrrrrrr. That's not right.
And who wouldn't be. Of course since she has fallen already this might kill her ded.
I think it just might have.
Getting Wallybee to her assignment proved harder than expected. Melbourne is hosting the Commonwealth Games, and the street she had to go to is closed to traffic, as are a number of other traffic options in the neighbourhood. Did eventually get there, but a few minutes late. But a bonding experience for us. Well. That and the chocolate penguins! (I'm a little concerned. I got two, one for each of us, but they're both currently in her possession. I'm not entirely convinced I'll see either of them again.)
I shall see her again on Wednesday night too, where we shall play board games.
Gris, meant to say this before, but I'm so sad for you.
Thanks, everyone for your understanding of the rant.
Yay, vw, go on with your dishes-doing self!
