Though that's due mostly to the fact that the heat, which I don't control (there is no thermostat in my apartment, for real), is BLAZING.

I was talking with a close friend tonight, and we're both getting to the point where we want to think about buying but we really don't have the money. Years ago, before either of us live in Chicago, we talked about moving here and renting a duplex. Now - we're kind of both including that possibility in our long-term buy plans. Thing is - we're both so pathologically private that we could make it work - we could go weeks without speaking without it being an issue on either side.
Eh, check back in next year at this time. Five years ago shooting the shit in DC this would have sounded way more outlandish.

Wow. No posts for several hours. Granted those are night time hours for most of the board, but still...
I've been up since 4:30 but too busy to post anything.
Nothing new to report here. I'm starting to mentally plan for our move, but nothing will actually happen for about 45 more days.
Next time I move, I want to be ready so far in advance that we'll be surrounded by boxes for weeks. And eating out or takeout the last week.

What We Will Take on the Plane.
Our stuff is *supposed* to take 3-4 weeks to arrive, but I'm not holding my breath. I think we are authorized an extra bag per person so right now it's two adults, a baby, 9 checked bags, two roller bags, two backpacks, a diaper bag, a car seat, and two kennels containing a dog each. I have a prety good idea of what Joe and I need for a week or so of living out of suitcases (we did it in Brazil for 3 months) but I'm still working out what we will need for Ellie. I have no idea how we will get to the airport, although the government is paying so we may just get a shuttle.
Oh, and yay for Fay! Bangkok sounds really cool.
