'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

I have not written anything but posts and fanfic in over a week. Oh, baby, where did my words go?(/Faux-Supremes) Hec, I hope my tag doesn't apply. I don't know why that cracked me up so much I guess cause he wrote it like it made as much sense as anything else.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Fucking hell. Neither of my mail accts are letting me in. Just spinning. Oh well. Just needed to vent for a moment.

Betsy, honking bonus good. Tree pretty. Fires are pretty too.

Weather outside looks iffy. So my living room is full of things that need to wait to go outside until later. Which means Sunday I guess. But the cats are thinking it's a new jungle gym for them. Which hopefully won't end badly.

Okay, off to shower now and I will deal with email later on.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Oh, and sj? I've found that writing the director of the program or department head with a fix it or suffer letter that is cc: to your rep and/or senator usually gets people to sit up and take notice. Good luck with the insurance.

It doesn't work with these people. Nothing does. They don't care. And, it turns out that they did this to absolutely everyone this month.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I was browsing Amazon.com in order to buy a "Dick and Jane" treasury (I'm about to start teaching The Bluest Eye in my African American Lit class, and the Dick and Jane context is essential for the students to understand).

Kristin, I am teaching “The Bluest Eye” right now. Have you seen these sites?

I am finding them quite useful.

Yesterday, he comes into my office and says, "I just blew my nose, and I felt something fly out. Can you look and see if I got something on my shirt?"

I swear it took me about 10 minutes to choke out, "There's a bathroom 3 steps away. Go look yourself."

Wow. I have sudden strong nervous feelings about the future of American diplomacy.

Also? Strangely glad this Friday didn’t suck for JUST special ol’ me. I mean, not glad that it sucked for anyone, but it was especially heinous at school today. Prison-like lock-down (and I’mo not joking – kids had to go to the bathroom with the principal, and she would flush FOR THEM to make sure they were actuallu going to the bathroom for excretory purposes and not drug deals or fucking off.) As a result, the kids were all PSYCHO CRAZY BAD. It was like herding horny angry cats AND trying to teach them Shakespeare at the same time. TOTALLY stabby. I suggested tequila instead of water in the office cooler. My principal looked like she was going to seriously look into it.

Trust my rage

Well, my Friday didn't suck, but it has been very lame. Joe has my computer for something and that does suck. Also, I really want to watch Buffy S2 today and I can't find my DVDs anywhere. I put them away in anticipation of showing that house and now I can't find them. The highlight of my day was a trip to the fire station to ensure the carseat is in correctly.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Holy crap, Erin, that sounds insane, and tequila-worthy indeed. Was there some incident that triggered the lockdown?

Mostly lurking...

Ok. I'm freaking out a little.

Emily should have been home two hours ago. I thought it was weird that I called before I left work and she didn't answer. But, I thought maybe she was in the bathroom or walking Toto or something.

There's no note. There's no voice mail. The mail wasn't picked up. So, she hasn't been home. We always tell each other when we have plans. I don't remember her telling me anything. I tried calling her cell and got her voice mail.

I'm scared. This isn't like her.

Apparently, all I needed to do was post my concern. She called. She's just leaving school. She didn't realize how late it had gotten. Silly girl. I've had too long of a week to have a scare like that!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

So, it's not just the people in my office who are having a monday today, then?

My morning was unbelievable (it was actually much worse for the gf), but I don't have time to go into it right now, but it's a doozy of a story. I'll try and tell it later when I get a second.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Oh, it's totally like me. I am inconsiderate girl when it comes to remembering to call. Plus, drinking with the teachers. But all is well.

Also? Apparently there are enough BATSHIT CRAZY people in teaching that I don't need to worry so much about the fact that I don't know how to do a discovery-based quadratic equation lesson. So long as I'm not saving my urine in bottles in the closet, I'm doing okay.
