Okay, clearly the time and place for a foodie question:
I'm thinking of making one of the salads in the cookbook for a party this weekend. Recipe calls for red onions. I'm not a big onion fan (plus, it's a set-dancing party - don't need to be getting into each others faces with mega-oniony breath). What imparts an onion-esque flavor without being so hit-you-over-the-head about it? Shallots? Green onions? Anyone?
SA, I hope some upstanding youth decides to turn in your bag. The thought of losing that much electronic equipment makes me queasy.
Today was a frazzling day. I suspect there are probably more of those in my future. Good thing the weekend is almost here.
ION, I would like a nap. In the alternative, a glass of wine and then a nap.
I like this plan. I think I shall steal it.

Fortunately, it can be duplicated any number of times. Unfortunately, it's not quitting time, yet.

Cash, if it helps at all, it does get easier. It's just the first couple of weeks of solo, double-kid parenting is amplified by sleep dep, I think. I was a zombie for the first three weeks after kid #2 was born and DH went back to work. Then we sorta got a routine down and it smoothed out a bit.
EtA: SA I'm vibing for the safe return of your bag. How rotten to have it taken!
Hi Dawn! How are you and the kids and the boat?

Stoopid work. I actually did the nap thing last night, and now I wish I hadn't, since sleeping from 8 to midnight, then 3-6, then 7:30-8:45 is not the same thing as sleeping for 8 hours.
Ah, shit, SA. I'm hoping like hell your stuff gets returned.
Today was the day of the weird all day first interview... I went in thinking it would be a good interview experience to have... and left actually wanting the job! That's pretty cool. I think it went well. I was very honest and candid about what I wanted and why I was looking to leave my current job (better balance between home and work life) so if they don't like it they can EAT IT and not hire me and all will be well.
But it sounded like their corporate culture supported that, so.
{{SA}} That just sucks. I hope someone ends up turning your bag in.
Yay, Nora!!
So, the other night I was channel flipping and saw a very young Ben Browder in a Danielle Steele miniseries, Secrets. It also had Christopher Plummer, so I thought it might be kinda okay. It really really wasn't, but Ben Browder! He was so cute! And really, doesn't look much different now than he did then. His hair was just a bit longer in front.
Ah! Screencap:
