See, I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with paying it back immediately. I would be working consistently for a year, at least, anyway. But given my current (lack of) financial situation, there's no way I could make that money before the end of the term.
No wealthy aunts, sadly.
There are banks that do personal loans. Wells Fargo, for instance. I bet the terms are bad, and it's probably a big ole mess, but they are out there.
I did one through my credit union seven years ago and got a pretty damn decent rate. I'm really going to miss my credit union.

Can you try to nail a job before you go? Sometimes, if you do that, they pay for, or help with the visa.
