Fantastic dream, Raq. Heh.
All good wishes to Minnesota Girl. It doesn't take much to shatter our sense of safety, and it takes a lot to rebuild it. I'm glad the physical injuries were no worse, and I hope she recovers quickly.
Jess, I forgot to say, Great Hair! I hope you've figured a way to get the stylist's name by now.
CJ is always teh cute.
Eeek! The guys are clearing out the under-eaves closet that runs the length of our house. My parents used it for an attic ever since the house was built, and, well, so have we, in all the years we've lived here. There're things in there that I want: my childhood books, about a dozen of them, the gilt-stamped leather-look classics (Alice, Moby Dick, Hawthorne, Hugo, etc.), and The Undersea World of Jaques Cousteau series. The trunk containing doll clothes for the ballerina doll I plan to sell on ebay--more bucks with the trunk and wardrobe. So far they've brought out lots of cardboard, plywood shelves from a closet DH built and then tore down, StE's roller skates (mine are in there somewhere, still in their metal case), and a chair. I shudder to think how long this is going to take.
I am cheering myself from the craptasticness of today by hoping that Tom will go along with my zany plan to go here for dinner tomorrow night.

Wooo! A procrastination pal! How fabulous!
How are you Jars? Cooked anything fun from the cookbook yet?
Oops, sorry vw. I actually went to do work for a few hours. I'm back to procrastinating again now though. And yes! I cooked brownies and also nabbed a guacamole recipe from the book. I may do some kind of a chicken thing from it tonight. I'll have a look through and see what ingredients I have. My cupboards are a little bare at the moment, Im afraid. All I bought at the shops today was eggs, for tomorrow is Pancake Day, and I will very much be taking advantage.
I've made the Vaguely Morrocan Chicken a handful of times and it rocks.
Jeebus, meara. Please to pass on my best wishes to MNGirl. I can't believe those guys were so blatant - that's a pretty high-traffic area she lives in.
lisah, i'm so sorry for your friends.
I had to go to the post office. so I went to the coffee shop to. I was out for less than half an hour , drove maybe two miles( normally I would have walked these errands) I'm exhausted. Good thing I already called into work.
and DH is on his way to boulder.
Ok - I really really need some "Keep Your Mouth Shut~ma". THere are some things happening here with one of my co-workers and my bosses and while I am VERY upset about it, I don't need to mouth off and get MY ass fired over it.
Aims, keep that pie hole closed. It's hard to purchase pie for your pie hole without a job.
I dreamed that I was trying to stop a wedding in a Balkan village using some combination of sparrows, turtles, wolves, and badgers (which stood for air, water, fire, and earth), and I was fighting two ancient crones who could shoot sewing needles from their fingertips.
Total coolness. I am visualizing the movie.
I am completely bummed that Octavia Butler died while I was reading her latest (last) book. How can I live happily in a world that no longer includes Octavia Butler or Joey Ramone?
Lisah, so sorry about your SiL's baby. I hope she has a good support network. That's such a devastating tragedy.
meara, I'm glad MNGirl has you to talk to. I hope she gets over the creepy crawlies quickly.
Cash, I hope you're feeling better and I'm glad big O is over the crud.
Jessica and Beth, beautiful hair! CJ is adorable. Emeline is beautiful.
Aimee, be careful.
Went to the doctor this morning; she looked at my toe, said "mmhmm," rewrapped it and gave me drugs. Yay for drugs. Our new home (barring issues) inspection is in an hour and a bit. I am very excited. Everyone wants to go and see the house. It's gonna be a wee bit crazy, but fun. I've been planning my flower and vegetable gardens already, though I'll have to return to reality when it's time to plant.
