I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

But there is nesting!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I fled in terror anyway.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Fan fiction ate my standards.

Actually, I wouldn't mind having a discussion about this story. Do we have a protocol for that? Whitefont?

Hrm. It's been out for, what, a week? Week and a half? I'd be okay with blackfont, but then I've already read it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'd be OK with either. That story pushed most of my fan buttons.

The only thing I hate more than MPREG is MPREG that makes me like it. Which is what Shalott's story did. I'm blaming hormones. Am I allowed do that? Do hormones account for me not particularly minding the cloying domesticity?

I'm blackfonting this becaue it's not particularly spoilery anyway.

And it's not even the first time she's done it. Her genderfuck Master and Commander story is...something else.

Yes, this. I fear to read, yet cannot turn turn away. I wish I didn't like it so much. I shouldn't like it so much. And yet...

Hee.

I think there are a couple of points where I think "no, uh-uh, too easy." It felt less like "oh, of course, they'd do that" and more like "oh, well, they have to do that so the plot goes where she wants it to go." But on the other hand, where she wanted to go was lots of fun, so.

It was sheer self-indulgence from end to end, which is fun when it's done this well.
