Susan, the sites that I go to for recs are Shrift and Dana's Polyamorous Recs (which no, doesn't mean the fics are all poly, it means they love many fandoms), and Bright Shiny Objects.
Also, Crack_Van may have good recs, although I find them less reliable than PolyRecs and BSO, frankly. [link]

Yeah, I find Crack Van really depends on who's reccing. The last few things I've tried, I've not enjoyed at all. Also, I've, as a result of that, found that, for a fandom I don't write, I'm pickier about Sports Night dialogue than I am about any other fandom's. Up to and including BtVS and AtS.
And, it would seem, I'm all for abusing the comma today.

There was a CV reccer a while back who recced a string of excellent Firefly stories. Now, of course, I have no idea who they are. Although that may have been where I first ran into Salieri. [link] "Scavenged" is excellent, and "Utopia" is jawdropping.

I can sorta kinda see mpreg in situations where one of the characters is an alien (although the whole cross-species thing makes my eyebrows twitch) or there's significant magic in the fandom. But seeing it as a possibility is a long way from actually wanting it to show up in the fic I read. The few times I've run across it it's been part of a whole feminization of one of the male characters, which tends to bother me anyway.
