Thanks, shrift. Just not real good at spotting subtext...I mean, yeah, on SV, but I'm not *dead* which is what it would take to miss that, all the popping champagne corks and whatnot. But the family-"values" crowd is really excited about that one...do you think it's amnesia?

Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Hysterical blindness. Gotta be.
Superman is the Great American Hero. He dresses in primary colors. He's in love with Lois Lane. He's got family values and morals and grew up on a farm in a small town, where he carried a torch for the beautiful Lana Lang.
It allows them to overlook the fact that sometimes Clark Kent dresses up like rough trade and asks his obscenely rich, purple-wearing, bad element of a best friend to run away with him. But he does his chores and respects his parents, so it's all good!
bwah!
I think it took me four hours to sort out what I wanted and what I was willing to write for Yuletide. Whew.
I have realized that because of the way I signed up, I could end up with some, er, interesting pairings. The question is, would I rather go back and go through the whole rigamarole again, or just live with the risk of getting stuck writing, to choose an obviously not-real example, Oz/Gunn/Harmony?
I mean, at least that'd be a funny story to tell later.
Oz/Gunn/Harmony?
My brain is melting.
Of course, the thing I'm writing has a serious Justine/Oz vibe, and I have no idea where that came from.

Oh, yeah. I realized that as I was almost done signing up, and had to go back and redo quite a few fandoms. But then I got tired and lazy, so I might still end up with something entertaining.
I mean, what's the chance someone would have asked for one of the really crazy ones, right?
...maybe I should go back and redo it.
I'm bummed out Robin of Sherwood didn't make it as an obscure fandom. Sigh.
I wasn't gonna sign up anyway, because I'm crap at challenges and creative assignments.
I requested three very, very different fandoms (one mediocre crime show, one manga series, one supernatural thriller). I'll be very interested to see which one gets written.
Are you sure, Suela? I thought I saw it. They've been having problems with the fandoms list, so be sure to check the actual signup form rather than relying on that page.
