Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

that she will invite Jesus Christ into her heart and also become a Christian.

Dude, she has to do both? You'd think one or the other would be enough, really.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Wow. The Hagrid characterization is really stellar.

"I still don't trust him Harry, but if that is what you want, I'll take you there. You wait here and I will go talk to Professor Dumbledore and explain what is happening, and get some transportation. You keep Fang company, and I'll be back in a bit," Hagrid bellowed as he left the house.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Also, please take a moment and say a prayer for Harry Potter's author, J.K. Rowling, that she will invite Jesus Christ into her heart and also become a Christian.

(I prayed when I'd read that. My prayer was roughly, "Dear Goddess, please keep J.K. Rowling, and the rest of us, safe from crazy Christians, and allow her, and the rest of us, to find our own right paths, whatever that path may be, Christian, pagan, Buddhist, whatever. So mote it be.")

A.J. Hall linked to that one. She has quite a lot to say about it on her LJ, too.

Yay! I followed someone else's LJ link, but this promises to be entertaining.

I do wish A.J. Hall would put her diatribes behind cut-text, because they tend to overwhelm my screen.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

But the art on the walls depicted bare-breasted women wearing puissant jewel tone saris and deeply tanned skin.

Raise your hand if 'ew'.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

According to dictionary.com, puissant is "powerful, to be able." I always thought it had something to do with wisdom or ability, but hadn't actually looked it up.

I wonder how powerfully capable saris and tanned (human? animal?) skins look together.

Also, my little pet peeve: jewel toned, not jewel tone. They're not currently being toned. They've already been toned.

Oh, also, ewwwww.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I am also thinking, those who are bare-breasted while wearing saris are wearing them wrong. Yes? Because there's that whole top part that, you know, covers the breasts. Anyway, all the saris I've seen worn.

Oh, I'd forgotten that. There's a little t-shirty thing they wear under them. I borrowed one once (a sari, with t-shirty thing). Maybe they didn't used to do that? She could be right about something, I suppose.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Because there's that whole top part that, you know, covers the breasts

Depends on the sari. There are some that are dependent on a blouse to cover the boobies -- they're a skirt with a bit that goes loosely over the shoulder.
