Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
oh my GOD, I hate the Nikita fandom.
Some days, dear, I think we should come up with amusing sockpuppets and go after 'em.
And then I remember that it would be, like, hard work and stuff, and that I'd actually have to deal with the crazy people instead of ignoring them.
This, she says lackadaisically, is why I could never truly be in charge of an evil cabal.
(Blinks pretty-like at all the people)
Sooooo... I know a lot of y'all are BBF members, and probably dimly recall the days when *good* recs happened. Yeah, me too.
I still think it could be a great resource, if a few smart people a week rec'd what they'd read and liked in recent times.
Especially, I think, slash recs. It could use a *lot* of slash recs.
{{{hugs Dana}}}
I'm so sorry the tinhats are driving you nuts. I have no consolation except that your fandom does appear to be insane.
"What! Boy Meets Girl??!! But that's my idea!"
Caveman 1 to Caveman 2. It hasn't been the same since.
Is that a call to action, Plei?
I'll try to do better. I don't tend to keep up with that list as much as I ought because generally the slash is where I head first, and you're right, it's not well represented. And some of the recs I've seen recently have been, well...
So I'll make an effort, when I come across something better than average, to remember to rec it there.
That is a call to action. I, err. Err.
Seem to have hit my head on something and had my brains leak out, because I'm a mod there now.
Yep, I noticed that the other day. Um, congrats?
But seriously, I'm a big old slacker where recs are concerned, so I at least can do better.
I may need fannish deprogramming at this point.
because I'm a mod there now.
Yeah, I noticed that. I had the urge to grab you and shake you very hard, but I was sick that day and made a note to do it later....
Okay, are there any Spred stories involving Phantom Spike and his ability to be more solid in some places than in others?
Also, any good Darla stories that go into what she was upto between China in 1900 and Sunnydale in 1997?
And Mother Clap's Molly House is the book that Diana Gabaldon cites as being very helpful to her in writing Lord John and the Private Matter.
I'm thinking that people interested in writing early Angelus slash might be find it useful too.
