Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

So is this fanfic or not?

Lydia Chalmers' Thesis on William the Bloody. I do adore the literature review. Darla: Duchess of Doom! Hee.

Art Crawl!!!

Hmmm, wonder what the requirements are for the Wyndham-Price Fellowship.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hmmm, wonder what the requirements are for the Wyndham-Price Fellowship.

I don't know, but if it involves carrying an evil ring of great power to Mordor with Wesley Wyndham Price and assorted unwashed elves, dwarves, hobbits and men, then I'll kill any one of you for the chance to join.

I mean, I love you folks, but a girl has to prioritise.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Oh, it's definitely fanfic. And I'm a sucker for folks who do things like this. Hee!

There's a really elegant explanation of the how-old-is-Spike-really thing later on.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Wyndam-Pryce

(Damn it, if people can get cranky about Conner, I'm gonna get cranky about this from time to time. There's one person exempt from this in the whole world, because it pains her to leave out the H, so she's good. Other than that, there is no "hi" in Wyndam-Pryce.)

Art Crawl!!!

Sorry -- I just repeated what was in the thesis.

Obviously the Watcher's Council's thesis readers aren't as picky about such things as the thesis reader's at my university were.

Oh, half the really really good writers do it, too. It drives me bonkers, but I deal.

It's just funny that people get really up in arms about other names, but then do the same about this one.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Plei, I always want to go back in time and retroactively change it to Wyndham or Windham, because the H-lessness bugs me. That said, fanficcers ought to follow canon spellings, even when they look stupid. IJS.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, Conner is easy to spot because it's wrong wrong wrong. Wyndham, however, is a pretty common spelling so it doesn't grab the eye the same way.

But I'll join you in your campaign to stamp out false Wyndams.
