Although somehow I don't think I'm going to be able to read OotP without stumbling across inappropriate Squiddish thoughts.
(looking insanely innocent) I rather thought it was Qidditch?
Rebecca, my love, 'allo 'allo.
I have one more AIM query. When I go to launch the software? It tells me, most ominously, that it "highly recommends" that I close all other apps.
Is that a must? Because, don' wanna.

Not really. Anyway, it sounds from that dire warning like what you're trying to launch is the installer, not the thing itself. Because, believe me, I'm running AIM with a buncha other things right now, and it's fucking great.
Does anyone have the link to the Inappropriate Crossover challenge handy? I'm partway through a due South/C.S.I. crossover, and I wanted to see if anything had been posted yet.
OK. Then what on earth is the thing I downloaded? The one sitting in "My Downloads" (and if anyone even thinks of bursting into "My Sherona"...)
what on earth is the thing I downloaded?
Yup, sounds like that's the installer. Run that once, and it should stick a nice AIM icon on your desktop, which you can use to sign in and chat like a fiend thereafter.
and if anyone even thinks of bursting into "My Sherona"
Well, I wasn't - until now. Fucker...
(ooooh my little AIM, AIM, when you get me on line, downloada....)
HOW do I actually log on to AIM and play?
edit: just saw the bit about run and icon. Shall try it....
"Sharona" not "Sherona" -- it was actually the name of the singer's girlfriend at the time, IIRC.
t enjoying watching Deb get sucked into AIM...
Speaking of weirdass crossovers, I once read a rather funny Buffy/The Tick crossover. Many many moons ago, that was.
And look! It's time to run for the bus. Later, all!
