When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Any suggestions?

I've got some links to some really really terrible Quantum Leap stories, several of which are very strange crossovers. (A few months ago, I was complaining about how hard it was to find good QL stuff, and SA started pressuring me to start a recs page for the stuff I did find, but I gave that up when I realized I could only find five stories that I would ever rec.)

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

So, like, the squid and the building?

Thanks for the link.

FayJay, you were actually thinking about that as you were reading the books, weren't you? The Squid? So many tentacles...So many possibilities...

Yup, I've already read A.J. Hall. That, my friend, is the shit.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I'm talking actual Calamari. I remember it arriving in my mailbox. Squid/Building porn isn't the sort of thing you forget in a hurry. (It was pretty entertaining, actually, as pastiches go.)

Just been to Silverlake to find it, but the link is dead. Here's the summary:

Eternal Luv

"The squid swished its tentacles around in the lake and gazed soulfully up at the hulking shape of Hogwarts, wondering if it felt the same way." By Jeff. NC-17

blink

Nope. Although somehow I don't think I'm going to be able to read OotP without stumbling across inappropriate Squiddish thoughts.

Thrive to spite them

You might try skimming around Fanfiction.net and seeing what weirdness you find.

There are some Quantum Leap crossovers here I don't really want to read--Sam as Luke Duke from Dukes of Hazaard, QL gets help from Men In Black the animated series, Sam leaps into the world of Pokemon, Sam leaps into Hawkeye Pierce,

The Squid is forever sullied in my mind now, too. Maybe even moreso than Roy Orbison.

I suppose it's no weirder than all the times the Enterprise has ended up having sex with floaty space alien creatures... Okay, no, I think even my open-mindedness has limits. Taking advantage of a BUILDING, for Jebus' sake. What is the world coming to?

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

I'd been wondering what all those squidfic jokes were about.

Now, with me and my most frequent correspondents (my BF and my Evil Twin) all broadbanded, I tend to leave the connection open all the time and have shorter exchanges throughout the day. More like being in the same house but not necessarily the same room with someone -- I might call out to them if I need to talk to them about something specific, or just drift through and say something for a few minutes in passing, but I'm less likely to have a single conversation that goes on at length.

That is so cool. OK, I know, not on topic of fic, either, but still cool.

AIM is evil and bad and has facilitated my having four-hour conversations with Reema every night.

<cackles>

Welcome to it, deb.

(My name there is tiaciias, if anyone wants to get me.)

The Enterprise doesn't have sex! The Enterprise is celibate!

(Liberator, now, there's a ship that would have sex.)
