And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Between these and the SV meta icons, it almost makes me want to, you know, participate in lj and fandom more so that I can use a couple of them.

And then say something stupid so that someone can cut me down like the lame-ass newbie I am. Wheeeee!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Man... I didn't know that plagiarism was a big problem in the HP fandom. I see it frequently in the Sailor Moon fandom, but it's actually rather fun, as the SMRFF forum has a tendency to lay into these people with great wit and snark. Should I post some excerpts sometime?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Has anyone written a backstory on Spike vamping Holden? If so I would really like to read it.

I'm not sure it is, honestly. It's more that it's happened a couple of times, and some people blow it out of proportion. Although the fact that a large part of the fandom rallied around Cassandra Claire didn't help their reputation any.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I would so become an HP fan posting to LiveJournal for that "It's spelled PLAGIARISM!" icon...

Someone hacked the site Shippers United to put up an anti-war message.

Gah! That must be quite a blow for Twilite (the archive owner). I had some of my stories there, and I used to do HTMLing and permission getting in the early days (like a few months ago). Gah.

I think they're still in the process of figuring out what's recoverable.

Yeah-- that'll be quite a process, I guess. With luck, it'll just be the front page that's been replaced.
