She got around?
Not that we ever had a shortage of crazies, back there. She was just a persistent crazy, and one who didn't change names every time she stopped to draw breath.
The whole fanfic phenomenon of FBI-agents-taking-ecstasy, with a codicil of FBI-agents-dancing-like-maddened-teenagers-in-neon-raves, was just too silly not to mention. Ooh! Ooh! And can I go into not-specifically-psychotic, but clearly out of their heads, people who thought the FBI had an annual ball? And that Mulder and Scully had to attend, however reluctantly? And cue your romance cliches and violins right about here?
Those were the
sane
people, I reliterate. Okay, mostly sane.

My favorite badfic of all time starts from that premise. I *think* it's a parody, but I've never been certain...

Ha! I remember reading one of those.
I doubt the TT crazy was the same as what'shername. She was just another one of those "you think GA is SOOOO great, why are you always blaming DD for everything?"
And then the rest of the thread would be confused.
I can't remember her name, but she'd show up whenever someone badmouthed Mulder, generally in the "Why the hell did he go in there when he KNEW it was a trap!" way. And she'd bitch about why we never complained about Scully.
Of course, I stopped hanging out there before the whole pregnancy/"I must have a baby"/"I must give up this baby" thing. Or I'd have had a whole lot to say about Scully.
Oh! I remember that.
They were indeed good times.
I feel old.
I'm so glad my only X-Files fandom experiences involved vids and my massive GA picture collection.
Err. And dressing as Scully for a con.

IIRC, a number of these were...
songfics.
I liked the Christmas party/dance stories. A lot of them were hysterically funny. And meant to be.
The hell of it was, there were so
many.
I mean, one or two random balls, okay, that's no weirder than neon raves, but there were like, hundreds! Every shipper worth her salt was writing one!
I mean, for crying out loud. I can only think of one romance that involved falling down in purple goo, something
that textually happened on the show,
and that was slash anyway.
