I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

In fact, one of my favorites put together a list of non-cliché but frequent pregnancy symptoms for writers to use.

I find any pregnancy story that doens't contain frequent urination an offense against g-d.

Not that I've got some sort of pee fetish, it's just that damn it, that one's so close to universal (much more so than nausea), that leaving it out seems criminal.

Gotta say, next time I'm pregnant (if there is one)? Bathroom on the same fucking floor.

I'd just like to share that I parsed this sentence

I find [any pregnancy story that doens't contain {frequent urination an offense against g-d}].

and was sitting around thinking "there is no indirect statement for that verb!" until it occured to me that that's a pretty weird thing to say.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I was a teenager when I saw The Lost Boys. It was all about Keifer Sutherland and Jason Patric. And all I remember is a few random scenes and the fact that the sex scene was totally gratuitous and I didn't give a shit.

PMM, you couldn't pay me enough to read bad preg fic. I don't if I should say "more power to you" or stage an intervention.

Thrive to spite them

I'm pretty sure that The Lost Boys is where my interested in Vampires solidified.

Thanks for all the fish.

Oooh, Keifer....

Carry on with the urination talk.

(note: These are two separate and completely unconnected thoughts. Thank you.)

I think intervention is the only cure. Though I seem to have closed it in disgust after about 7 chapters.

You know what you must do now. Delete the link from your favorites, too, or it will just draw you back in.

I found it by accident when looking for some (other) AU Spike/Buffy someone had recommended, one that convinced me that yes, most Spike/Buffy just sucks rocks. (I mean, I already pretty much thought that, but this was just confirmation)

So, no worries that it's in favs.

Oh, *shit*.

This is not okay! This is not an okay state to be in, at the computer fifteen minutes past midnight reading these stories that completely scare me, completely viscerally deeply *repulse* me, and yet are so equally-viscerally compelling, and *very* well-written on top of that, and, and, that is not okay! That I'm so keyed up by these stories, in a way I don't *often* but have before been, that in order to keep from yelling aloud I have to clamp my hand over my mouth and breathe in rhythms, to keep from waking the house with my excitement. I can't remember the last time writing got to me like this. Maybe the Scariest Harry/Draco Ever fic, that was pretty intense. Christ.

I want to run yelling to Audrey Lemon and ask her to please, please, please write more.

I want to erase the history of this from my computer and forget it ever happened. I have serious gut/intellectual problems with incest. And the meta-thrill paradox of this being so upsetting but still so well-done-- I like it so much.

I'm going to have the worst fic-hangover in the morning.

brillig

I keep running into stories that are deeply disturbing but just so well written. I tell Amy, "I just read the most wonderful story. Don't go anywhere near it, you mustn't read it, it was just so amazing." It generally involves kids being seriously hurt, which upsets her. I generally test read/view things for her. But I was able to show her a good-parts verson of Silence of the Lambs that showcased the amazing hottitude of Starling/Lector and why Hopkins won that Oscar while avoiding the worst of the gore. "And hte rest of it just gets messy from here, so we'll just rewind it now."
