Thrive to spite them

Today I suddenly wanted to read Jayne/Kaylee stories. Except I looked and there really aren't many out there.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Why Xander/Spike? Good essay.

Thanks for all the fish.

I enjoyed that. And the writer is me on a very important point - I don't think that Xander is gay (and Spike's sexuality just seems very fluid to me, gay/straight/bi, labels that don't apply - he's vampire), I just enjoy it when he and Spike suck tongue. And other things.

That's EXACTLY what I liked about it. Spike's sexuality is rarely -- if ever -- addressed. He just fucks who he feels like fucking, regardless of gender or demonic status. But it always has to be this big ordeal for Xander, where he has to ponder his sexuality ad infinitum.

Now, don't get me wrong; given Xander's nature, I can see him getting attacked by the Sexual Orientation Squickmonsters. It wouldn't be true to his character if he didn't address it at all.

But what I'm saying is, why does it have to be a "Xander's gay now!" thing, when it never seems to be a "Spike's gay now!" thing? Can't Xander mull it over and then decide that orientation doesn't enter into it and he just likes sucking on Spike's tongue?

Always Anti-fascist!

That was interesting for me, as somebody who's more "Slash? The hell?" than not.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I don't see Xander as gay *BUT*, and this is a huge *BUT*, and it could be the Canon's Bitch in me talking, Xander has more than his fair share of issues surrounding his sexuality. He likes girls. He knows he likes girls. However, I would guess he's had more than one wet dream about an XY, and may have done some fooling around to boot, probably with Jesse.

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd dig up all the supporting evidence.

Bill, my friend, strange deeds are afoot at the Circle K.

As one of my friends put it, "I wondered why Xander was in so very many stories. And then I realized, well, someone has to be the bottom."

(Suddenly realizes that Xander hasn't ever bottomed in anything I've slashed him in. But he has gotten a lot of blow jobs.)
