Oh, don't feel you have to move away, Fay- just expressing a taste. YrapeMV.

Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
NC-17 Fan-fic: keeping Calli off the streets and at her keyboard for 6 years and counting.
Heh.
Well, I like Zahra's Harry/Draco, despite the fact that they're wee, because she writes them like they would be at that age -
t darkly I don't most like Zahra.
I'm trying to think of if I read kid-fic recently that gave me a "aww, bless" happy, but can't dredge up specific, good examples. Maybe nos. 10 and 66 from the great Shack Challenge?
I've spent some time trying to figure out why one makes me go "Ugh!" and hit the back button hard enough to bruise my track pad, and the other makes me go, "Hmmmmm. What else has the author done?" 'Cause there are similar aspects to both underage and noncon that I would think would promote similar responses in me. Clearly the psychology behind my responses to various types of porn are murky and strange.
Mine also. Given that large amounts of bloodplay, h/c, and attempted suicide by vampire bite mid-orgasm don't bother me, even to the 'more! more!' point of not-botheredness.
Oh, I have such strange triggers about issues of young children and sex. I mean, probably not very strange, but intense. I got stuck one night, I was reading all this Lost Boys slash that was just written *so* well, and so movingly, and so good, and it was incest slash, of course, and I was just freaking out unable to stop reading but in a high state of distress. It's a very viscerally important issue, for me; one of the most. It's surprising. And I loved the LB slash partaways because I love bad-wrong-horrible-the-world-is-doomed fiction, the way I loved the BtVS Wishverse.
One thing I loved about The Witching Hour, by Anne Rice (back when she was good, if very purple-prose-y), was Mona, the 13-year-old genius who slept with everyone she could get her hands on. Including 42-year-old men. And much much older men. And I realized I should be squicked, but I just wasn't.
I can imagine well done young/young fic, cannot handle incest, except my definition is narrower than some, and haven't seen an instance of noncon that I felt was worth finishing.
cannot handle incest
Also, I love Hotel New Hampshire beyond all reason (hello to the incest!) and The Secret History. Although both of those are sibling incest.
And, I realize, not fanfic. Just fic.
RL, isn't the Shack Challenge wonderful? My favourite has to be 54, I think.
except my definition is narrower than some,
What do you define it as, then? Just curious.
Am-Chau, I know a woman (*very* cool woman) who's on the list holmesslash@yahoogroups (that may be slightly off). There Is An SirACD-Fic World Out There.
I think I should go looking for that list. The words
There Is An SirACD-Fic World Out There.
create in me a desire to read Mrs. Hudson/Irene femslash.
YrapeMV.Jesus, that does make it sound bad. But in fiction it really may vary, both in form and function - and the damnedest thing is that notwithstanding how thoroughly & genuinely apalled most everyone is by actual rape, borderline consent and lack of consent is VERY popular and mainstream in fiction. I don't just mean fanfic either - it's a staple element of much romantic/erotic fiction out there in all its cheesy glory.
I've written stories in which there is sexual violence which I've tried to make ugly and unpleasant rather than titilating. But I've also written erotic stories in which powerplay and consent are key.
But enough of this. I'm being all mememem again, and it's dull. Hobbits - of course they have sex. They don't find baby Hobbits under the cabbage leaves! Bless. Frodo/Sam. Man alive, I'm looking forward to The Two Towers for a whole host of reasons.
