You're neither lazy nor evil. I know you & HG will say something. But Jean's been stalking us for 2 years and all she did was say, "oh, it's finished." Hello??
Bitter much? Absolutely.
And yes, the fandom has changed immensely. Most of the folks on the Haven have clearly never heard of the series.
Also, Ephemeral never picked up the first 10 parts. Which is a bit of a problem. I need to fix that but it's such a hassle...
Having been raised by Puritans, I understand the old "I don't know them, they'll think I'm rude for sending something". Being a writer, though, seeing email from someone you don't know that's obviously not spam is a thrill to get you through the day. I have, however, gotten to that overly sophisticated stage where a "I really liked it" frequently inspires a "that's lovely, but what did you like about it?" My issues. I need to remind myself that someone actually took the trouble to click on the feedback link and wrote some words.
If I love it, I write lengthy feedbacks. If I like it, I do say so. And sometimes, though, not lately, I sneak around on Ff. net and act as grammar fairy. And mention stuff like "Giles would know the difference between 'manner' and "manor". I know there is no point, but I would not be able to live with myself otherwise.
I've had nice conversations with a few ficcers I've given feedback to.(other than you guys) but some of them don't say thanks or anything. but that e-mail is probably the fourth box or something.

See, for a moment there I thought you meant "had never heard of the television series." And I thought, "Well, it's a bit harsh, but not untrue." Most of them seem to have gotten their idea of good characterization from sappy fanfic, not from the actual show.

Oh, this is absurd. The Farscape Fanfic Awards (already of questionable validity since they refuse to accept any slash at all) are so desperate for submissions that they are now accepting nominations of any stories written since the series began, including past winners of their own awards.

That's just really beyond sad.
Why don't they accept slash?
Because that would be wrong. Actually, I have no idea. They just won't. I had better refrain from further comment.
I just don't really get a lot of fanfiction awards.
Following on the feedback discussion (I don't get fanfic awards so much I have nothing to say about them), I've just received what I think could be the best bit of feedback I've ever. It's about the Angel/Wesley drabbles, which some of you may have read, it's not long or detailed. The person- whom I've never heard of before- just wrote: "DISTURBINGLY COOL."
